Movies Made Me Do It!
From Harmony Creative Studios: Alyson + Tony – what a fun couple! Tony is an editor for the hit show ‘Modern Family’, and a lover of movies. The movie ‘Big Fish’ was a big influence on their wedding, with a bistro lighted garden feeling – just like the big party scene in the movie. They were looking for a large private venue with a large green area, so new venue Oak Canyon Ranch was just the place!
Doing Things A Little Differently
We incorporated bright colors and picado flags to give a nod to their engagement in Mexico, and the whole thing started to feel like a family-fun fiesta! My fave project by far on this one was the large escort card/favor wall, which featured cookie treats in the shape of both California (for the bride) and Ohio (for the groom).
Add in a ring bearer ‘security guard’ carrying a lockbox, coke bottle elements for the couple’s fave drink and a t-shirt cannon in place of a bouquet/garter toss – and the result was so much fun!
Wait did you say T-shirt cannon?!
Yes! Yes we did! That’s right the bride and groom chose to update the age old tradition of a garter and bouquet toss and instead launched custom t-shirts into the crowd of their wedding guests! Uh-yeah. we are stealing this idea for the next party we attend.
