Romantic DIY Dallas Wedding

Avery and Dagen describe their relationship as "old school". They take long walks, sit in the park and read, and send one each other love letters. Although they are romantics at heart, they are also young and wanted a wedding that was bright and full of life. When combining their love for vintage romance and their on-trend style, they came up with a vintage-style Anthropologie-esque wedding, overflowing with romantic DIY details. All photographed by Dallas wedding photographer Kathryn Krueger. As always, there is a full gallery of more eye-candy to peruse here.

From The Bride:Dagen and I are old school in our relationship. We take long walks, sit in the park and read, and send one another love letters. We are romantics at heart but we're also young and wanted a wedding that was bright and full of life.

We chose to get married in the church we both grew up in. Even though the decor there was very traditional, we brought in our whimsical florals and had some custom candle light fixtures made to bring in the ambiance we wanted for our entire wedding.

I am very close with all of my girlfriends from college and they as well as family friends and members from our church helped to set up the reception centerpieces. I love the feeling Anthropologie catalogs create with their combined whimsy and color. That was the inspiration for our centerpieces and reception.

We searched out and collected colored glass vases, pretty tea party cups and dishes, and handkerchiefs to combine them all into friendly centerpieces. I added in cut trees and moss to bring in a whimsical forest element. In the end, the rather simple reception venue that used to be for summer camps in the 1940s looked so full of life and we had such a brilliant time celebrating our marriage in the midst of such great friends.
