Planning The Big Day

Working with Molly and David and this amazing team of vendors was a dream. Molly, a highly detailed interior designer, had a design vision that truly came to life. Dave, a talented chef, wanted their guests to have an amazing culinary experience. Put the two together and you get this dreamy chic, dinner party wedding!

Upon our first timeline meeting with the venue, Molly had constructed a 3D model of their event space to really get a feel for what it looked like! The two were so in love and it was so evident they wanted to create a day that catered to their guests. They wanted a fine dining experience, to treat their guests to amazing food and wine. They opted for charcuterie centerpieces, baguette place cards, and the most amazing custom flag to hang their wedding logo and keep as sentimental design piece from their day. They wanted their guests to experience the magic of Linden Street, a street in Geneva NY that shuts down to traffic every weekend and becomes a beautiful bistro light lined street with chic bars and restaurants.

Molly and David loved to travel the world, they collected postcards from restaurants they visited around the world and used those as their guest book.

Words from the Bride and Groom:

Our motto has always been "keep it simple" and "less is more". We wanted the entire day to feel like it was effortless, chic and sophisticated in a casual urban setting. With Left Bank as the backdrop, it's hard not to achieve what we wanted to create. We didn't want the day to feel like a wedding, we wanted it to feel like a dinner party on a Saturday night with our friends and family.

We were looking for a unique hidden gem and stumbled upon Left Bank. “Le coup de foudre” - love at first sight is all we have to say about the venue. It's the most striking example of early 20th-century Beaux-Arts Classicism. Formerly the Farmers and Merchants Bank, renamed Left Bank, a nod to Paris’ Rive Gauche of artists and thinkers, with an aim to bring the same innovation and energy to this restored bank building. The location was ideal, situated on the North end of Seneca Lake in the heart of the finger lakes made it very easy to achieve our destination wedding in the center of wine country. Being an interior designer it was a needle in a haystack sort of gem. Architecturally it was the minimalist look we were hoping for. Filled with history and special details like the original bank vault we couldn't pass up on this location.

Left Bank is located on a small one-way traffic cobblestone street. In the summer months on the weekends, the street is only open to pedestrians, making the street buzzing with activities from other nearby restaurants and bars. This allowed us to have our ceremony right outside of the venue as well as walk a few doors down to our favorite cocktail lounge for cocktail hour with our friends and family. The weather was absolutely perfect that day so we could spill out into the street after dinner and lounge on couches under the bistro lights that lined the street. The most wonderful way to end our evening under the stars.
