Missouri Wedding Venue | Longview Mansion

Gathering inspiration from the timeless elegance of the 1950s, Rak Designs designed this ultra glam shoot to showcase Missouri's Longview Mansion. A striking structure boasting 48 rooms, presents an ‘oh-so-glamorous’ sentiment, allowing the couple and guests to celebrate like true aristocrats. This Missouri wedding venue is fancy fancy, from the bride's suite to the grounds - the perfect setting for a luxurious wedding.
How fun does it look to get ready in this bridal suite? It includes a make-up room, a large, glassed sun porch, and a private bath overlooking the fountain garden so you can watch your guests arrive. Who wouldn't want to get all dolled up in there? Especially if you are going to have your hair and makeup look like a 1950s glamour queen. Dazzling in a vintage 1950s tea-length gown, the bride is ornamented in long lace sleeves, a scalloped neckline to match her scalloped white gloves, and a polished gold-plated bow belt. Keeping with true 1950s fashion, a bow-hat is worn, adorned with a beautiful birdcage veil, which you can see below.

The outdoor grounds of the mansion gave room to express a fresh spin on a timeless era. Strong, impressive cement columns stood near a pink-velvet tufted arm chair and an elegant white light fixture, wrapped in ivy, hung overhead. At the altar, flowing mint-colored fabric panels fell from a tree and were delicately gathered in the center, adorned with gorgeous floral displays.

For the striking bride, a vanity was crafted with a suspended French antique mirror, turned leg table, lace table dressing, accents of glass perfume bottles & smaller floral arrangements in classic mint julep cups. Taking advantage of the overgrown natural nearby-field, an antique pink damask- print settee and ottoman created a perfect balance of the past’s timeless form and the present day’s love of organic beauty.

A monochromatic table setting included layered white dinnerware with varying designs. Crisp white table linens complimented the centerpiece of overflowing baby’s breath, which can also be seen garnishing each place-setting. Subtle additions of light peach and pink were noted in the smaller floral arrangements and the lace overlay atop the table. Hints of silver can be seen in the charger plates, vases, vintage cutlery & custom-made place cards. Presenting an element of sophistication, the place cards feature embossed silver paper with coordinating black and white embellishments which suit male and female guests-alike. Gracing the backs of the bride & groom chairs hung custom-made ‘Mr & Mrs’ signs which incorporate a martini and rocks glass for charming appeal.
