We found out from Vogue that Miranda's dress was inspired by Grace Kelly's wedding dress to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. Designed by Helen Rose and spun out of antique Belgian lace, silk, taffeta, and tulle by some 35 seamstresses in the MGM studios.
