Masquerade Black And Gold Wedding

beautiful farm wedding @weddingchicks

This stunning black and gold wedding all started when Tyler and Rachel fell in love with the gorgeous venue, Castleton Farms. One of the only dates they had open for the month they wanted was Halloween, so they all began imagining a masquerade-themed wedding, filled with black and gold details.
Rachel and Tyler loved the idea, so they went with it, and it turned out to be such a beautiful and timeless event. So many of the details came from the heart, creating the perfect blend of fun and meaningful. See the whole event in the full gallery here, photographed by Finch Photography.

Photos Are Forever

The only wedding detail Tyler really cared about was the wedding photos. He knew that at the end of their wedding day, the pictures would be the only materialistic thing that would last way past the wedding. The pictures are what they'll hang all over their house, reminding them of the vows they made. The pictures are what they'll show their kids and grandkids to inspire them of a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love that still exists.

What Matters Most

The most important details for Rachel were the flowers and basically just how the event would all come together, which she was beyond happy with how it all turned out! The awesome thing about this couple, though, is no matter what details they considered important, it was so obvious they were just overjoyed to be getting MARRIED and beginning their forever. There was not a moment the entire day that Rachel and Tyler weren't absolutely beaming.

Cherished Wedding Mementos

Even though Rachel chose not to wear her mother's gown, she took the lace from one sleeve and used it to wrap her bouquet. Another unique touch: the brooch to hold the lace was Rachel's great-grandmother's. Sadly, she unexpectedly passed away a few weeks following the wedding, so Rachel says she cherishes that brooch and the joy her great-grandmother had knowing it was included in their wedding day.

Recruit Some Minions

Rachel has a large, very creative family, so that was incorporated in different ways. Her mother and two aunts are known for planning their family events, so they helped by setting each place at the table, painting the storybook photo booth, arranging the ceremony altar decor, and other various projects. They were known as Castleton's "Minions" since they were always running around helping in whatever way they could!

Planners Are A Key To Wonderfulness

We incorporated several DIY projects, which I recommend to future brides because it added a special touch knowing the love that was put into each one. However, I recommend wedding planners as well! There were so many details that I would have missed had we not had one! My aunts also helped with all the decor, which helped make all the details personal!
