An elopement weekend set amongst the Texan meets European heritage of The Commodore Perry Estate, inspired by the sophisticated architecture of the estate and the nostalgia of leisurely travel. It was important for us to capture the experience of the signature spaces and landscape of the property and transport the couple to a one-of-a-kind oasis with a European vibe. Tones of blue, shades of peach/terracotta, taupe, and golden ivory are surrounded by grand old-world architecture and finely crafted details.
How the day went
Lila and Ross strolled the quaint yet sprawling grounds in the mid-afternoon and had private libations in the courtyard to enjoy the start of their destination elopement. They quietly got ready in their suite where Lila donned beautiful silk and French Lace pieces from Girl and a Serious Dream. The bride later wore a stunning ivory lace and beaded appliqué feather mini dress from Allison Webb paired with a beautiful hand-beaded cathedral veil and embellished heels. The groom wore an ivory paisley tuxedo with a gold velvet bow tie and black vintage Bottega Veneta lace-ups. They said their vows in the sunken rose gardens that honor the heritage of the original English Garden and wandered the mansion on their way to the intimate celebration planned on the terrace.
We set their table with taupe velvet, layered stoneware, and soft feminine florals. Morgan Pearl Cakes made them a romantic hand-painted cake with a floral design reminiscent of the Italian Renaissance Revival patterns seen in the mansion. They announced to all their friends and family with a custom stationery suite complete with peach textured paper, vellums accents, and a terra-cotta-toned motif as a nod to the original estate tiles. The overall design was decadent yet refined and infused with their personal style.
