Melanie and Benjamin live in NYC, where they met, but love traveling to colorful exotic places. It's My Wedding Day Beaches!
Taking inspiration from the tropical surroundings, the bridal party blended right into the island theme. Bride Melanie resembled an island princess with her peony flower crown, known as a lei po'o in Hawaii as was styled by Flaunt Hawaii. Her boho style "wedding dress" featured a lacey off the shoulder crop top and a silk skirt with a small train. This flowed perfectly in the warm trade wind breeze.
The bridesmaids wore a modern take on the traditional Hawaiian “mumu,” floor length dresses with a vintage aloha print. The groom and groomsmen complimented the ladies with neutral beige suits and tropical ties. The florals, overflowed with coral pink peonies along with proteas and anthuriums, local to the islands.
The morning ceremony took place at the Ocean Lawn, aptly named because only a small strip of beach separates it from the turquoise ocean. After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed an open air brunch with views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head mountain. Pineapple favors welcomed the guests at their seats and the signature drink of Waikiki, the Mai Tai, was served. Once the formalities were over, everyone knew where they would be headed next, to the beach!
