From Paris To Normandy

From Fete in France: City wedding or countryside wedding? Why choose? Meegan and Dennis did just that for their celebration in France. After a few days of enjoying Paris, including a photo shoot around the city and a few spectacular dinners, the group headed to the charming Normandy countryside to the lovely Château de Bouelles.

Emotional ceremony

The ceremony included touching memories of the bride's departed father - a recording of him singing a favorite hymn and a butterfly release - both ideas put forth by the groom as a surprise for the bride. After the emotion of the ceremony the intimate group enjoyed champagne and nibbles in the back gardens.

From the bride: Our wedding was very different than the traditional. Because we traveled so far to be wed in France, our guest list was extremely small. Like, 5 people small! And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way! It was so intimate and special. It took out all the pre-wedding jitters and we were so excited to turn our special day into such a memorable trip with the handful of people that mean more than anyone else. We were able to share inside jokes, very personal stories, and honor my father, who passed away when I was 7, in a way that our very small circle felt very connected with. It was magical!

We also surprised everyone with fireworks towards the end of the evening. My new husband and I were floating on cloud nine and we actually forgot about them ourselves! It ended up being a beautiful surprise for everyone! And it was a fantastic way to wrap up the evening.
