I Do Venues ~ Design ~ Violet and Aqua

Summary

Violet paired with aquamarine can be a knock-out color combination for a fun and flirty Vintage affair, or a posh Retro Glam shindig. The wonderful wedding pictured above is brought to us courtesy of Corbin Gurkin. The unique vintage birdcages in aqua and neutral shades are a marvelous detail that are extraordinarily versatile. Hang the various cages from oversized trees that are lined with cafe lights; use the cages as lighting element and introduce an old fashioned mason jar candle into the setting. A variety of metal cages of different sizes will create a delightful tablescape and can be used for your guest book, seating chart, or a festive addition to your bar.
Don't be afraid to go bold with color in your invitation, escort cards, and RSVP's. Both aqua and violet look amazing as the primary color instead of the more traditional neutral base with bright graphics. Add an additional shot of color from your drink and dessert menu. Specialty cocktails using Blue Hypnotic are a perfect shade of aqua; use a lavender sugar rim or a black berry as garnish and you have created a great libation with color, creativity, and flair. A dessert station with vanilla Gelato and a basket of berries or candy bars is a perfectly sweet ending to you celebration.

Venue Recommendations, Color Palette & Details

Violet, Aqua, and Rosewater work well in a Beaux Arts or Vintage inspired settings. This color combination looks amazing at The Montclair Women's Cultural Club or the Headlands Center for The Arts. Consider using a muted version of this pallet, or the brights paired with Black Damask at the Flood Mansion.
