Pink is the one color we can’t see petering out of the wedding picture… and that says a lot, because white was once that coveted color. As soon as I got engaged, I couldn’t wait to start dreamscaping my soft, romantic pink day, but I knew that I didn’t want a Pepto-stained / cotton candy fluff party. It had to be softer, more muted, and not overtly feminine. So, we ended up going the dusty rose route, and it worked - with all the other champagne accents and golds+brushed metallic motifs.
Vendors know the shade, in ALL of its iterations, and can easily decipher hot pink hues from cooler nuances of the color. They handle the palette like total rockstars, too. Whether it’s the soft-blushy lighting that your venue works in through the windows (filling your reception space with the most romantic vibes) or the gilded cake displays they curate to complement your deckle-edged pink/coral frosted confections, your wedding dream team will help you pull off pink in lots of ways without making your guests feel like it’s #WeddingWednesday. If you know what we mean.
To infuse your day with pops of pink that don’t look like a bubblegum nightmare, here are some tips:
Pick pink as your color.
Your wedding doesn’t have to be a pink parade, but you can honor your favorite color on your own time! So, whether that’s via the engagement ring you wear every day (rose gold, pink/peachy sapphire stones, yes and yes), a stunning pink gown you wear in your engagement photos, or the pink envelopes you send your invites out in, you can do it minimally, but still make a major impact.

Use a shade story.
There’s nothing we love more about wedding color palettes than celebrating their range. So you can do that with something like flowers (using blooms with a variety of blush-colored petals) or bridesmaids dresses. We’re always into the shades of pink bridal party.
Add #somethingpink to the situation.
You have your own something old, new, borrowed, and blue - why not treat your girls to #somethingpink of their own. Pop the question with girly pink gifts or let the girls snack on pink sugar cookies in your bridal suite. It’s a girls’ room. It should look the party.
We glossed over our inspiration pages to see how some of our favorite vendors were playing with the palette as of late. And the pink parties we’ve been peeping are gorgeous!!
