How To Style Your Wedding Day Look

Style Your Wedding Day Look

At The Bridal Finery, we love thinking outside of the box when it comes to wedding dress styling. We encourage our brides to pick out a wedding dress that represents their personal style, a wedding dress that showcases who they are in a “bridal version.” We don’t believe a wedding dress needs to fit in with your wedding date’s season or location, it should truly represent who you are.

In this photoshoot, Roberta, co-owner and stylist at The Bridal Finery, chose to add a little spice to a classic and timeless wedding color scheme and venue. Some may say we should have picked out something more “appropriate” for the setting and decor. Instead, Roberta chose a look that was flattering to the model, and a dress to show off how you can add something simple, timeless, and a little sexy to a traditional wedding. Heart by Ines Di Santo was the perfect fit!

But the attire was just the start of the total bridal look. One thing a bride always needs to remember is that you will have a little more makeup on than your everyday look and your hair will have more volume and texture. This means that your wedding jewelry should be a little bigger than your everyday pieces so they can be seen in photos.
Why not have transitional looks for your wedding day? Having a second dress doesn’t always work within the budget. Instead, consider changing your wedding jewelry from ceremony to reception. In these images, you’ll see the same dress throughout but a totally different look in bridal accessories.

For the ceremony, try something a little more delicate

For the ceremony, try something a little more delicate, such as the chandelier earrings pictured here. The small pearls in ivory and light blush tones make them easy to be seen from afar by the wedding guests and to stand out in photos without overpowering the elegance and delicate decor of the ceremony.
When wearing your hair down, think of a hairpiece that can stand out but is secure at the same time. Also, remember to make sure your earrings and headpiece have some of the same elements and stones, making the overall look coordinated. They don’t necessarily need to be matchy-matchy, just cohesive. For the ceremony look in this photoshoot, the earrings and headpiece both had the same color scheme and were designed by Maria Elena Headpieces

The reception look should be a fun one.

Choose items to show you are ready to let loose and have fun with your guests and your spouse! Don’t be afraid to go for a bolder look and even change your lip color! For this shoot, we styled the model in jewelry pieces with bigger elements for the reception including a thick pearl headband and fun pearl drop earrings. These are the perfect pieces to pop on the dance floor!
If you are a bride who wants to step outside of the norm, these are quick and fun ways of doing it. When thinking of your wedding day look, you need to think of it as a whole by purchasing your jewelry and veil while you are wearing your wedding dress!
