Start With A Venue

From Love by Lynzie Events + Design: We started working with Becca and Chris in the very beginning stages of planning their wedding. They needed assistance finding a venue that could accommodate their large guest list of 300+, but they also wanted it to be unique and special. In the end, Becca and Chris, enjoyed a beautiful fall wedding in a reclaimed brick making factory, Evergreen Brick Works

In Toronto, Brick Works is known for hosting socially conscious weddings working exclusively with Belong Catering, whose entire mandate is to produce elegant, current meal options that are in season and locally sourced.

Hire A Planner With Big Ideas

When they came to us, Becca and Chris presented a unique challenge: Plan something fun, relaxed and beautiful, and maintain an intimate vibe with over 340 guests. Their guest count was huge! We were set with a task of developing a decor scheme and floor plan that encouraged intimacy and gave the feeling of a small dinner party. I believe we achieved that wholeheartedly by keeping our rental selections down to earth and relatable.

We transformed the space into a whimsical, romantic, rustic affair, with some modern flare. The 800 feet of ambient string lighting helped create a warm glow and the natural foliage kept pretense to a minimum.

Get To DIY-ing

Some of the projects that our team hand crafted for them included:

a seating chart created from raw stumps of wood and hand-lettered onto acrylic, suspended from each stump, hand lettered wood stained signage,

A 16 Edison bulb chandelier above the head table and a gorgeous vintage furniture lounge.

Their invitations were printed on sliced wood,

they had farmhouse chairs for their entire bridal party,

and their florals filled over 175 vintage bottles and vases.

Keep The Day Focused

My heart was so full every time someone spoke at the wedding. The entire room fell silent and totally engrossed by every speech. Laughter and tears erupted as if on cue and the love for the bride and groom was palpable.

The event finished with the most epic dance party... and being the lead singer of the band they chose, I played double duty and was able to serenade them for their first dance- a slowed-down version of Teenage Dream.
