As a millennial I will be the first to say, yes I love minimalism. Living in a space devoid of clutter helps me keep focused on what is important in life. Why wouldn't the same apply for your engagement shoot and ultimately your wedding? In that same vein, what is more minimal than the quiet and barren beauty of the desert? So let's get hip quick and find out just how to have a hipster + desert engagement shoot.
This sweet couple spent an evening wondering among the sand dunes of Silver Lake Michigan. Their loving adventure was captured by the photography talent of Eastlyn Bright & Joshua Lee. You can see ever last bit of this satisfyingly simple shoot in the full gallery.
A Desert Aesthetic
From the Bride-to-be: Gentry and I have always loved the desert aesthetic. When we first met, he introduced to me his favorite band based in Nevada. We both fell in love with the style and look of desert life, and now those songs and images hold a special place in my heart.
We wanted to have engagement pictures in a spot that was new and an adventure! We were easily put in awe when we made it to the sand dunes. The sand was sweeping off the crests, literally taking our breath away, and we felt such wonder for this new place.
From Eastlyn Bright & Joshua Lee: Sierra and Gentry were lost in the moment of experiencing this majestic place for the first time. They were with one another, embracing, laughing, dancing and creating memories for the rest of their lives. In all honesty, we couldn't have created any of these images without this incredible couple's willingness to put their full trust in us. We honor that and are beyond humbled to have been able to document this irreplaceable time in their lives.
