Historic location

From C. Baron PhotographyEach and every photographer has a subject that “speaks” to them. For us, historic locations make our little photographer hearts beat fast. This might explain why Galveston is one of our favorite places to shoot. When the opportunity arose to photograph the incredible and historic Bryan museum we were ecstatic. The Bryan Museum served as an orphanage for nearly 100 years and survived the greatest natural disaster in the United States history, The 1900 Storm.

Restored and beautiful

Miraculously, all occupants of the building not only survived the disaster, but were not harmed. It is believed that the sturdy cypress beams of the Gothic Revival style Architecture helped protect the children, matrons and islanders seeking shelter. However, The Bryan Museum was still damaged and was restored with a renaissance aesthetic design.

Gothic revival style

Today, it serves as a sanctuary for the Southwestern United States – and hosts events! They have recently built an absolutely exquisite conservatory to help accommodate large events. As it turns out, we weren’t the only people who are in love with this location. We gathered an incredible team of vendors who put their heart and souls into creating a gorgeous inspiration shoot that certainly pays homage to both the Gothic Revival style and the renaissance aesthetic of the building.
