The "Do It Yourself" wedding trend is a great way for creative couples to break out the glue gun and add personal touches to their wedding. However, it is important to know your own strengths and weaknesses. It is crucial for your own sanity to know when it is time to hire a professional. Recently, Meghann & Sean tied the knot at beautiful Strawberry Farms in Orange County, CA. The couple was very excited to incorporate several DIY projects to make their wedding personal. Fortunately, Meghann was wise enough to realize when it was appropriate to hire a professional for the details she wasn't as familiar with. Meghann was ever so kind to share a few words on this topic...
From the Bride, Meghann:

My husband, Sean and I wanted our wedding to be very "us". We envisioned a very laid back wedding filled with DIY touches and lots of love. We made all the decor, including 180 material flowers for every place setting. We chose a barn (Strawberry Farms) for our venue because everything else in Orange County was too formal for our taste. My girlfriend from high school made our beautiful cake (Cake Obsessions).

We were going to do all of our flowers but about mid-way through the planning process, I had a panic attack about this. I just envisioned the flowers arriving in the mail wilted and the day of the wedding being stressed about all the bouquets and centerpieces! All I can say is thank goodness I found Christa Rose of Floral Designs by Christa Rose! She put all my fears to rest and was an absolute dream to work with. She filled the barn with grey and white wedding flowers - beautiful white hydrangeas and baby's breath and made stunning bouquets filled with anemones, garden roses, ranunculus and dusty miller.

Our photographer (Color Me Rad) and our videographer (618 studios) were friends, which made for a very fun night! All in all the day was absolutely magical and exactly what we wanted!

My advice for any brides- to -be out there is stay true to yourself and chose vendors that will help you make your day amazing!!!!
