Kaycee and Mac's wedding was the essence of Southern charm. The wedding took place at The Corry House, a historic home near Union Point and located on the Ogeechee Plantation. Tucked into the forest it made the most beautiful place for a wedding.

The Corry House
The house was built in the 1860’s and sits on an expanse of five hundred acres named Ogeechee Plantation in Greene County. The Ogeechee River, which has headwaters in Union Point, runs through the acreage. The home was actually built by a Confederate soldier for his betrothed after returning home from the Civil War. Ogeechee Plantation was once a cotton plantation and later was used for farming and forestry.
A Bold Meeting
From the bride: Mac and I met through mutual friends on Memorial Day 2012. Of course I thought he was super cute, but I didn't think that he would ever be interested in me. I introduced myself to him and we started talking and ended up talking the majority of the night. We quickly became friends, but when he stated to leave I decided to be the bold one, so I asked him if he was going to get my number or not. I am so thankful I did, Mac texted me good morning the next morning and hasn't missed a morning yet.
The ceremony took place amidst the gorgeous greenery of the forest. Event designer, Greg Hall, created a beautiful chapel like backdrop with sunlight peeking through the trees as Kaycee and Mac said their vows.
The Proposal Story
From the bride: Mac and I are a perfect match because we balance each other out . I am outgoing, he is shy. We laugh together, bring out the best in each other, we are best friends! Mac had an elaborate plan to propose, but I accidentally ruined his plan so Mac was forced to just wing it. We were having a date night in and as we were watching tv he got down on one knee. It was so us, intimate and private, it was perfect.
Beautiful Barn Reception
The reception occurred in the barn and the guests danced the night away to the Dirk Howell Band and enjoyed the quaint southern charm of the Corry House grounds complete with horses, swings, and a tree house!
Family Heirlooms And Favors
Kaycee's dad was carrying her grandfather's pocket watch, and Kaycee had a peanut lapel pin that belonged to her grandfather (the owner of Reed's nuts). Their big DIY project was their favors. Kaycee states, "My family had a peanut and pecan farm in South Georgia. So we decided to have toasted pecans in little jars with ribbon around them and had a bunch of my grandfather's stuff used to decorate the table."
