First Look Vs. First Touch, Which One’s For You?

First Look Vs. First Touch, Which One's For You?

Having a first look is a hotly debated topic. Some couples are all about it and want that special moment when they first see each other to be just between them, and some couples want the suspense and drama of the traditional aisle reveal. This couple found the perfect compromise. Instead of a first look, they did a first touch. They stood back to back and held hands before their ceremony. It was a special moment where they could talk about their morning and get out some last-minute wedding day nerves before they officially became husband and wife.

Cedar & Sage Studios captured all of these beautiful moments between the couple and their nearest and dearest while Reverent Wedding Films got the whole day on video. The ceremony was held in a spectacular glass venue that is perfect for a winter wedding–you get all the benefits of the beautiful outdoors without the cold. This winter wedding was made all the more glamourous by these festive floral arrangements by The Perfect Touch. A FEW HAPPY TEARS

Brenda and Daniel are nurses who spent most of 2020 working overtime to keep their community safe during the pandemic. They somehow also managed to plan this elegant wedding at Ashton Gardens in Houston, chock full of personal details and romantic florals. It turned into the perfect joy-filled way to end a chaotic year. The day began with matching robes for the ladies and vows scribbled on a plain white note card for the groom. Brenda had a relaxing morning, but the moment they zipped up her dress and handed her a giant bouquet of greenery and white flowers created by The Perfect Touch, the vibe in the room changed, and it was go-time. First touches have become a really popular thing in the Houston area. It gives couples who want that traditional first look as the bride walks down the aisle the chance to still have their photo taken with their partner before saying, “I do.” Brenda and Daniel held hands while they anxiously chatted about their morning and Brenda wiped away a few tears of happiness.

A TOUCHING CEREMONY

The ceremony took place in a gorgeous chapel with floor-to-ceiling windows and a stunning round arch covered in greens. Guests signed a portrait of the bride and groom as they entered the room, then grabbed one of the custom face masks that stated, “Spread love, not germs.” Brenda and Daniel’s dog, Sammy, acted as the ring bearer, walking down the aisle to a string quartet, adorned in a lush collar of greenery. After the ceremony, Brenda twisted her hair into an effortless updo and the newlyweds took portraits in the dark.

Inside the reception venue, the tables were decorated with elegant white florals and gold accents, which matched the gold Chiavari chairs. Guests were greeted by a custom drink with calligraphed snowflake-shaped escort cards on top. Brenda and Daniel entered the room and shared a first dance, lit by candlelight and chandeliers. They spent the rest of the night on the dance floor with their family and friends, courtesy of the party vibe from DJ Dave. When the evening was over, everyone headed outside and Brenda and Daniel shared one last dance together in an empty room. They exited to a tunnel of buzzing sparklers and rode away in a horse-drawn carriage.
