I was feeling very inspired by soft colours, delicate shades and puffed fabrics, as if I was picturing an old watercolour dreamy painting. The first step was to find a venue that would fit this scenario. Lisbon has many beautiful, classical wedding venues, and I found my perfect fit at Verride Palace Santa Catarina. This is a small XVIII century palace in the old center of Lisbon, that is now a refurbished hotel. It has an amazing view to the city and a beautiful design. It has 19 rooms, however the most inspiring one for me was the Queen's Room in the Royal Suite: this is a very feminine room, with classical walls and soft tones.

The most exciting area for me was the small room by the suite, that is decorated with soft pink tones in the walls, and the wall framing is designed with nature elements - what really caught my eye was the small birds that were part of this beautiful drawing, so I knew they had to come to live in the wedding design. Their lightness and dreamy feel were a big part of the overall project: we integrated them in the dinning table as you can see on the plates, and also on the wedding cake, that was mainly designed around the elements on these walls.

The colours we used for the decoration were very soft "baby" colors as I call them, but very different: pink, blue, yellow, violet. I was looking for a very classical but modern floral design, and I thought the best fit would be to separate the flowers by types and color groups instead of mixing them in the arrangements.

The massive wedding arch added a magical touch to the ceremony, and the dinning table had a soft and clean look that perfectly complements the dinner area.

With such a beautiful and elegant set up, I wanted to make sure all the details matched this design: I found the perfect bridal dress from Pronovias' 2021 collection - Chizelle. I was really excited to have the opportunity to shoot it. Although it is a very modern dress, it is very elegant. Basically, it fits the project in every aspect and the bride was perfectly styled by Vanessa Marinho Makeup & Hair.

If I had to describe the final result with one word, it would be fairytale. Many weddings are designed with luxurious and royalty-worthy details, but this was a very different one that can make you dream about soft old paintings, palace gardens and fairies.
