Desert Black-Tie Bohemian Wedding Inspiration

gorgeous wedding inspiration

What do you get when you combine black-tie style with a desert bohemian wedding vibe? This gorgeous collaboration from Marisa Belle Photography and a team of super talented creatives! They imagined this fresh style with two bridal looks and blooms inspired by the colors of an Arizona sunset.

It all came together at The Clayton House in Scottsdale, Arizona with a sleek organic vibe and dusty pink and blue hues. It's chic and sophisticated, and totally gorgeous folks!  See it all below, and catch a closer look in the full galley.

This inspiration shoot was a true collaboration between all vendors. When we first met to talk about the direction we wanted the shoot to take, everyone agreed that it should be something that was black tie while still incorporating a desert/bohemian wedding vibe. We opted for a color pallet that would say both black tie and DESERT! Our colors were different shades of blue, light dusty pink, mauves and golds. We wanted a color pallet that would transcend any season. We wanted lots of texture throughout the design. Our goal with this shoot was to inspire brides and let them know that beautiful black tie weddings don’t always have to be white and acrylic and that all bohemian weddings don’t have to be all macramé and succulents! A stunning and traditional venue like The Clayton House can be equally as beautiful for a bohemian wedding as well as a classic black tie affair!

the fashion

As with any inspirational shoot so much of the feeling comes from the wardrobe. For this shoot we went to the amazing bridal boutique Lovely Bride in Old Town Scottsdale for the dress. We went with a two-piece dress, with lots of delicate texture and a gauzy romantic, black tie vibe. We used a light as air skirt for the ceremony and took the skirt off to reveal a fitted fully embroidered sheath dress for the reception. We felt like the lightness of the skirt for the reception embraced both the bohemian and black tie feel of the wedding and the sheath dress was super black tie and fun for the reception.

all about that texture and color

Texture, texture, texture! Color, Color, Color! I am totally gaga over the design that master planner Andrea Leslie of Andrea Leslie Weddings and Events concocted! She went with layers of color and texture for each table. To bring in the desert/bohemian element she chose matte gray chargers and bread plates with clean white plates. The flatware was a classic gold to bring in the black-tie feeling and play off the gold foil on the menus. She even incorporated texture into the napkins that had a delicately embroidered bit of detail. The glassware provided by The Confetti Studio again brought in the color and bohemian element, while the candles provided a luxurious black tie feel.
