Dark Romance In A German Gallery Space

Dark Romance In A German Gallery Space

The sky-high ceilings of this modern venue and the rows of black dividers give the whole space gothic chapel vibes. While the venue certainly does set the tone, the dark ambiance is softened with gold accents, airy floral arrangements, natural light, and flirty wedding ensembles in light colors. The contrast of the edgy modern venue and these soft romantic touches makes this wedding inspiration so intriguing, it’s almost impossible to look away!

Sophie Papendick wanted to combine the current wedding trends and create something totally original. Galerie Der Traumfaenger has to be one of the most interesting venues we've ever seen. It borders somewhere between a church and an industrial loft space. These photos by Kathrin Krok are full of shadow and movement giving them a three-dimensional feel, it's almost like you're there. Lieblichgruen designed all of the floral arrangements for this shoot, combining interesting textures and mixing both live and dried florals. COMBINING THE TRENDS

Dark Romance In A German Gallery Space

Boho, purism, and industrial are themes that are super popular with couples in 2021 and 2022. We thought, "Why not combine everything?". We asked ourselves, "What does a wedding concept for couples who want a non-traditional wedding look like?". The result was a mysterious location, paired with pure, playful, and romantic wedding details. The awesome pictures were taken by the photographer, Kathrin Krok, in an extraordinary location in Dorsten, Germany. The whole planning and event design was managed by Sophie Papendick, the owner of the wedding agency, From Sophie With Love. The wedding planner went for a subtle color palette of cream and white, paired with dreamy blush tones a touch of rose quartz, refreshed with gold accents. The dominating colors in the location, dark gray, black, and brown, form a strong but desirable contrast to everything else.

THINKING OUTSIDE THE CASTLE

Dark Romance In A German Gallery Space

The Venue, Galerie der Traumfaenger (which translates to 'Gallery of dream catchers'), is where wedding dreams come true–the name says it all. It invites you to dream and is the ideal place to live out your wedding wishes artistically and creatively. Minimalism kisses industrial design. Wedding venues don't always have to be a castle or a fortress; there are enough old industrial halls in every big city. There are no limits to your imagination. A wedding ceremony in an old industrial hall is worth considering. It is only important that there is enough daylight, otherwise, you can add additional lighting with candles and fairy lights–a special atmosphere is automatically guaranteed.

A DESIGN THAT IS WILD AND FREE

The florist, Sana from Lieblichgrüen, created a dreamy, romantic, wild arrangement yet with a focus on elegance and aesthetics. The stationery by Wildlovenotes was also very romantic– delicate handmade paper and lovely touches like soft muslin ribbons on the name tags completed the elegant look. We love it when everything melts into each other and makes a well-rounded picture. A special highlight was the cake and drinks. While the drinks from Starkeepers were very puristic and printed with the bride and groom's initials, the cake from Le PomPom stood out with a very romantic design. Fine structures, gold accents, and roses lent the design something unique and so rarely seen in Germany.

The decoration was also based on the location. Since the walls seemed very hard and cool, the decoration should be light and dreamy. The decorator, Nicole from The Featherette, chose a lot of muslin fabric and soft colors for the candles. Also, the flower bouquet, which consisted only of a delicate branch, underlined the romantic look with the delicate colors and shapes. The rest of the decoration we kept puristic and monochrome. The color white dominated the table setting. Fine structures, gold accents, and roses lent the design something unique and so rarely seen in Germany. The coolness was interrupted both at the table and at the wedding ceremony by an abundance of candles and lanterns. The florist incorporated palm leaves into the wedding ceremony as a break in style and a way to increase the anticipation for the honeymoon.

WHAT TO WEAR

Dark Romance In A German Gallery Space

If you dare to combine and break with several styles, you should go for a simple design for your dress. The bridal boutique, Labude, selected two beautiful dresses for this shoot. The first one was the 'Nyika Dress' by Charlie Brear and the second dress was the 'Brooklyn 2.0' dress by & For Love Bridal. To keep the look from being too simple, we recommend an open back, fringe, or sequins. The glamorous makeup styling by Jasmin Zelenko made the bride look beautiful and pure. We played with the hair being up and down to add some variety to the shoot. Men are welcome to wear light suits like white, cream, or beige. We recommend light colors because, in a dark color like black, we think the groom may blend into the surrounding decor.
