Classic White Wedding With Mint Accents

Classic White Wedding With Mint Accents

Who adores the idea of having both a dress for the ceremony and a reception dress? Especially if you want to wear an over the top dress for the ceremony think - full train and cathedral style veil. These classic wedding dresses are gorgeous, but you really need something to shimmy n' shake in. The perfect excuse to get a second stylish little number to toast the night away.
Donna, our next bride, did just this with her custom designed Shin Bu dresses. A dress for the ceremony, and one for their stylish smog shoppe reception. Besides Donna's on-trend looks, this entire classic white wedding with mint accents is a lovely event. You can see the entire wedding in the full gallery here, all beautifully photographed  by Esther Sun Photography. Read on to hear more about the wedding from Donna.

Groomsman in classic black and white suits with different shades of mint socks, and Donna's bridesmaids each wore mint green dresses with matching earrings designed by Donna. We adore the simple draping on the dress, giving these long formal dresses a more relaxed feel.

On Donna and Paul's Smog Shoppe budget:We tried to keep everything under $25K. As funny as that sounds, we almost made it happen...the grand total was about $30K (sans honeymoon). I feel like everything came together this way because we decided to splurge on specific things such as the venue while DIY-ing everything else the most we could.

Above all, choosing a venue that allowed outside catering was #1 on our priority list because we knew that catering and alcohol would be the most, if not the next expensive item to check off.  I also recommend using your connections to your advantage! They will help with your budget tremendously. For example, our florist was Paul's brother-in-law's aunt (I know, pretty extended family), but she gave us her services (the altar arrangements, reception arrangements, bouquets, etc) all for under $2000.

Floral centerpieces were presented in vintage vases. All of the guest names were written in alphabetical order on cards and tables were marked with letters from A-Z. Matching menus printed on kraft paper were all made by Donna and Paul to cut on costs.
