Choosing Digital or Film for your wedding?

What we did not mention in the first part of Jody and Jenna's wedding story is that they are wedding professionals. Jody is a filmmaker and Jenna is a photographer. Thus the reason behind having their wedding shot in film and digital. On top of that, their video coverage was both in digital and super 8 film. Be sure to view their film below, basically they had it all.
Jody the groom met Troi Crombie Photography ten years ago while they were in school. Their deal then, was that she would photograph his wedding when the day came. The day finally came and here is their wedding captured through Troi's eyes. Along with a few tid bits of information on choosing a digital or film photographer for your wedding? Who will give me a backup of my images? A film or digital photographer?
Most photographers, both film and digital both give all of their clients copies of their images. They usually process all images that they will give you. Don't be surprised if the contract states that you are not allowed to edit the images after you receive the back up. Both film and digital photographers will accommodate for updating technology to make sure you have a way to retrieve your photos.  Since ... the new laptop you bought no longer has a DVD drive.
Keep in mind that even though you have a backup of your images, the photos that you have printed might not be as lovely as the ones your photographer has printed for you. They send their photos to a professional lab that will give you optimal results. We are not saying that Costco or Walgreens prints are terrible, but you can definitely see the difference, especially in the photos that you would like to hang up on your wall for years to come.

How Jenna and Jody cut costs:
They had a standing ceremony which cut the cost of  chair rentals. They used all vintage furniture from their own home along with friend's furniture for the reception. They choose a mid May wedding, which tends to be a bit drier where they are. So, they did not require a huge tent rental. Instead of a full dinner they simply had delicious desserts and espresso drinks.
Another great idea is that they had a big jar for their honeymoon fund. Friends and family can donate to your special trip if they are able to.

Jody and Jenna had their favorite local coffee shop set up a full espresso bar at their wedding. Serving lattes, cappuccinos and americanos. Bean Scene Coffee Works also happened to be the same local coffee shop where they had  their first date, making their presence even more special.
