A big DIY moment for me was wax stamping each one of our 220 invitations by hand in our 400 square foot apartment! It added a special touch to our very elevated yet classic invitations.
FROM THE BRIDE on wedding planning
Our wedding was in Athens, Georgia - home of the University of Georgia. Keegan and I met freshman year at UGA while on Spring Break and have spent every minute together since. We grew up together through our years in Athens. After graduation, we moved to New York City together, both anxious to pursue big careers in our respective industries - mine in fashion, his in commercial real estate.
Although New York had been our home for four years, it just felt right to go back to where it all begin, our old college town, to tie the knot. We found the perfect venue, a beautiful old Southern farm house, with multiple ceremony location options and a big outdoor barn for our reception - Cloverleaf Farm.
IT WAS IMPORTANT TO USE WARM FALL COLORS AND DRIED FLORALS TO REPRESENT THE SEASON
It was important to use warm fall colors and dried florals to represent the season. It was a challenge to find the perfect balance between black tie elegance, the traditional Southern vibe of the venue, and the boho, dried flowers approach I was looking for.
Consistency was extremely important to me - I was sure to use the same fonts, materials and tone in every aspect of our wedding, while including modern lucite and timeless typography to elevate the event. I think this played a huge factor in everything coming together in the end.
We had 175 people in attendance, which was intimate yet inclusive - and we were able to have all the most important people in our lives be a part of our big day. It was a beautiful day - and I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Her Wedding Dress
The Condesa dress by Pronovias was the third dress I tried on at Kleinfeld - I immediately ugly cried on the platform in the showroom. I have never felt more beautiful in my life.
Their Love Story
Keegan and I met our freshman year in college at the University of Georgia. We spent every moment together those 4 years in Athens, spent a summer in New York City as interns, and moved to the City immediately following graduation.
Although we love New York and it is home to us, it only felt right to host our wedding in the town we fell in love in.
Our wedding was so special - it was 7 years in the making. The perfect gathering of all the most important people in our lives - our family from all over the country, our friends from New York City, our friends from highschool and college.
The Venue and Florals
Cloverleaf Farm. is 15 minutes outside downtown Athens and the perfect fit for us. A beautiful farm house with a courtyard perfect for a cocktail hour, rustic open pavilion for the reception - it checked every box.
A fall wedding was very important to us - I used a lot of pampas grass, cream and quicksand roses, fantail pussy willow, white and dried Nigella flower, green pepper-berry, dried fern, and golden Amaranthus. It was important to me to highlight the season using dried florals for my arrangements and table scapes. Georgia wedding florist, A Divine Event Design Studio designed all our fall wedding floral arrangements.
The wedding Reception
We had a signature cocktail which was a Dirty Martini - Tito's Vodka, a rinse of dry vermouth and two olives.
We wanted an elevated, elegant affair but FUN was our highest priority. Our 8-piece jam band stole the show, and no one left the dance floor the entire night.
The Wedding Cake
Our cake was made by a bakery in my hometown, it had two flavors, one for each layer, salted caramel and raspberry cream cheese.
