An Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Needlework, Sybil Francis was one of the first needlewomen in England. In the 1930's, she embroidered a pillow that was translated into a copper print engraving and the first Aves dinnerware was produced. Black Aves with Gold was created at Gump's request and launched as an exclusive for the store in 1987. A monochrome design with 22kt gold edges, the pattern represents the birds of paradise and was originally inspired by silk embroidery.

David Pressman Events designed an entire table around this iconic dinner wear. Complete with fancy lettering by Soolip and one stunning floral centerpiece by Krista Jon. To see the entire shoot by Aaron Delesie be sure to click here.
