Creating a unique and photo-friendly space is more important now than ever before because when so many weddings are micro-weddings, the photos are all you have to share with family and friends that couldn't be there in person. When it comes to making a space your own, a blank slate like an open rooftop can be intimidating. But if you have a bold design in mind for your wedding, a blank slate is exactly what you need. This team was able to take this modern rooftop with views of the NYC skyline and make it look like two distinct spaces for the ceremony and reception. They wove the color palette into the architecture of the building with an incredible balloon installation that framed the ceremony space perfectly. For the reception, they positioned the table at just the right angle so that the couple and their guests would be treated to a great view no matter where they were sitting, not to mention great photo-ops from every angle!
These photos by Randy Lange Photography show exactly how versatile a space like this can be. iHeart The Details planned every detail of this wedding inspiration and curated this great team. The Balloon River created this over-the-top balloon installation and Rosaspina Floral designed all of the complimentary floral arrangements. This inspiration shoot came to life on the rooftop of The MC Hotel. A ONE-STOP SHOP
Boutique hotels and micro-weddings are the perfect marriage for today's modern couple. In one gorgeous location, you can check off all the boxes on your must-have wedding list, while still providing a more intimate and unique affair that your guests will surely remember.
As soon as I saw The MC Hotel in my neighboring town of Montclair, NJ, I knew it would be the perfect location for this editorial. It’s the newest hotspot for the coolest couples who are looking to embrace the present and celebrate their love in a venue that’s just as special and they are. The artistic vibe of the hotel inspired me to bring together some of the most talented industry creatives in the area to create a styled shoot that was like no other. Randy Lange Photography captured all the elements of this day beautifully, to give you a taste of all the amazing possibilities that await here.
Arguably one of the best things about having your wedding at The MC Hotel is that everything is under (and on top of) one roof. For this shoot, I wanted our models (who are actually married with a beautiful new baby) to enjoy this day, like a vow renewal. I had them both separated in two of the hotel's gorgeously appointed suites. They met in the hotel's bar lobby for their first look and it was pure magic.
Our groom, Kevin, was dapper and fashion-forward. Both of his plaid suits were form-fitting and tailored to a T. And, although he ditched the tie and opted for a more casual look, the accent details like his mustard-colored printed handkerchief and icy blue cufflinks from Bucco Couture were not to be missed.
When it came to our bride Tiffany, we let her effortless beauty shine through. Nicole Bueno totally mastered the makeup look. She skillfully enhanced Tiffany’s amazing beautiful brown skin and created a look that was fresh and feminine. And our bride's naturally curly hair had loads of volume thanks to Janet from Pink Ivy Beauty. It was perfectly styled in two ways. The first look was all-out and crowned with a floral crystal and gold headpiece. The second style was pulled half-up into a bun to expose the stunning crystal-leaf earrings from Bridal Atelier Montclair. Bridal Atelier Montclair also provided two exquisite bridal gowns that were timeless and elegantly modern. They each had their own ornate details like stunning lace and delicate silk.
ADD A LITTLE FUN
iHeart The Details is all about coloring outside the lines to draw up something that’s never been done before and is 100% you. We love to shake things up and give you space to go beyond ordinary wedding traditions so that you can have fun with your decor in an elegant way. For this shoot, I wanted the focal point to be fun in a BIG way, so we decided to add balloons. And if you thought balloons were just for kids’ parties and baby showers, think again! This massive balloon installation by The Balloon River created a one-of-a-kind wow factor that was absolutely breathtaking. It doubled as the backdrop for the couples’ ceremony and reception table. An organic floral centerpiece by Rosaspina Floral was perfectly anchored in the middle of the install, mixing unexpected bright and bold pops of pinks and blues with more natural warm hues of deep yellows and orange.
Barrio Press created an artistic design that was full of detail. The invitation suite, menus, place cards, and vow sheets featured the perfect blend of soft and bold color tones and interesting texture. The print on the arched invitation was directly pulled from the print design on the napkins. No detail was missed!
The arched welcome sign and metal display stand, created by Mak Floral Design, showcased contemporary beauty with the use of their teal blue translucent acrylic. It added a much-needed artistic edge to the look which was flawlessly softened by the blooms attached by Rosaspina Floral. The look was completed with a stunning acrylic and gold console table with mirrored top from Tie A Bow rentals.
The minimalist cake, designed by Goodiebox Bake Shop, was given the best backdrop on The MC's rooftop: the NYC skyline! Combined with pacific blue velvet linen from Nuage Designs and a corner cluster of balloons from The Balloon River, it was literally the sweetest touch.
The tabletop décor was a fusion of color and texture. It was completely inspired by The MC Hotel's modern mustard-yellow leather and wood dining chairs. We added patterned linen from Nuage Designs and the most incredible curated tabletop rental pieces from Tie A Bow. The personalized menus from Barrio Press added that fun touch of teal and Rosaspina Floral tied all the design elements together.
