Italy offers a wide choice of locations for weddings, from a village in Tuscany to a villa with views of Rome or Florence to the beautiful seaside cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. However, castles will always hold a special fascination!
In previous posts, we have told about the Castles of Vincigliata and Tor Crescenza. Today we introduce you to Borgo della Merluzza, which although it is not really a castle, does not fail to astound our brides and grooms with its old tower, of which there is a legend that tells of a young blackbird (in italian “merla”, by hence the name of borgo) that was trapped inside and sang sweet melodies during a full moon.
It is not difficult to fall in love with this place in the quiet of the hills on Via Cassia, about 20 minutes from the center of Rome. It features a large park and outdoor spaces – including a small amphitheater shaded by trees – and an illuminated swimming pool around which you can set up for dinner and dancing.

The ceremony was staged in one of the rooms of the main house:
Finally, the dancing in the amphitheater magically illuminated by several lanterns.
It was a really memorable wedding, immersed in the quiet of the generous nature of the Roman countryside!
