For Cheryl and Marcus, having a destination wedding in Greece was their dream come true! Zattero Seaside Bar in Halkidiki was the scenic location for their destination celebration by the sea in soft hues of blue and peach.
Their wedding featured organic details and lots of symbolic elements throughout, which included the doors for their ceremony backdrop that symbolized the entrance into their new life. Sigh. How cute is that?! Read more about their gorgoeus day below styled by Soo Events, and catch a closer look in the full gallery captured by Olga Creative Photohraphy.
From Soo Events: Many couples choose to get married away from home, some because they enjoy the thrill of travel and some to explore new places. But for Cheryl and Marcus, it wasn’t just a destination wedding. It was their dream come true. This beautiful couple lives in the UK, in a lovely city next to the sea. They actually relocated a few months back, with the sole purpose of living on the seaside. Thus, it was that much important to them to get married right next to the water. Since they have been visiting Greece as a vacation destination, they fell in love with Halkidiki and decided that it was going to be the destination for their special day.
ceremony full of symbolism
The ceremony took place in the afternoon. All of the couple’s friends and family were gathered together, as Cheryl walked down the aisle to meet Marcus, right in front of a stunning white open door frame, that would symbolize the entrance to their new life. Many more symbols were included in the ceremony. Some of them originate from ancient Greece, such as the wedding crowns made of olive leaves and the drinking of the wine.
White and blue reception
White wooden tables, pale blue silk runners and grey vineyard wooden chairs were some of the elements of this romantic dinner scenery. The table set up was complimented by clear glass vintage charger plates, white dinner napkins, blue wine glasses and a touch of eucalyptus. Next to each place setting, the guests would find a very cute little glass bottle that we filled with limoncello, as a wedding favor.
an evening of love
After the sun went down, the venue was romantically lit with garlands with Edison type lamps and paper lanterns over the tables, along with a white illuminated LOVE sign. The band kept the party going for hours, while the guests were drinking, dancing and enjoying the fireworks in the sky. “For her, the ocean was more than a dream. It was a place she needed to visit herself. And when she returned to the city, you could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, and taste the infinite salt on her lips.” Jose Chaves.
