yea, that greenville

The darling couple met at an art gallery in the vibrant West End arts community; Margaret was drawn to the beauty in the clouds of the painting, and Reese was drawn to the beauty standing before it. Two years later, the couple decided to tie the knot in their favorite city, and focus the feel of their day about so much of what makes people say "Yeah, that Greenville" (the popular hashtag for the city).

meaningful ceremony backdrop

In lieu of a more commonly themed wedding concept, they chose to incorporate classic elements of the very city that drew them together. In true Southern style, they embraced the heart of downtown's natural outdoor environment by choosing the historical site, Mary's Falls Cottage, which overlooks the ever-popular Falls Park for their ceremony and reception. The newlyweds exchanged vows amidst their closest friends and family, in front of the very painting at which that they first met (as Reese had surprised Margaret with it as a wedding present); the artist Emily Jeffords' work had originally inspired details that flowed throughout the day.

showcase your city

From wedding invitations, to place cards & table numbers, to the cake itself—this captivating artwork was all that was needed to elevate their day from typical garden party to a supremely alluring affair. Every detail was considered to showcase the city that they love, from bringing the popular vagabond barista onsite to their outdoor lounge, perfectly positioned next to the dance floor. Together it all provided an ambiance of casual sophistication under the canopy of lush flora that is iconic to the downtown.

best kept secret of the south

The charm of this shoot is undeniable, and the atmosphere creates a draw that is purely magnetic. Everyone who visits Greenville for a wedding simply cannot believe how they've discovered the best kept secret of the South. The vendors involved in the shoot reflect many of the growing trends seen around the city: the flourishing arts district, both for printing and more traditional art; epicurean delights in the emerging specialty bars and restaurants (including coffee bars); contemporary yet resplendent floral design, utilizing indigenous flora; and a modern twist on traditional styling for the both the attire as well as reception setting.
