This is an elopement inspiration that takes place at a Colombian glamping site located in front of a lake surrounded by mountains, it's such a beautiful view! We were inspired by nature and an intimate kind of ceremony. We haven't seen a lot of inspirational elopement content created in Colombia, so we thought it'd be a great idea. to share, since Colombia has amazing landscapes and vendors!

The bride wore two dresses, one a little more elegant for the exchange of the vows and then another a bit more relaxed for the sunset part of the session. The groom also wore two outfits, they're less classical than what grooms are used to since we wish to inspire brides and grooms to be themselves, comfortable but still stylish during their wedding day!
The wedding designers set up a minimalistic flowers installation as a backdrop for the ceremony, all the flowers were seasonal, and we also use natural leaves as confetti for the "end/exit of the ceremony" shot. The table is a mix of wooden rustic style with a touch of blue, and also the colorful flowers. All the brands we are showcasing (dresses, groom jacket, and coat, hat, jewelry...) are local designers from Bogotá, Colombia, they have small ateliers where they handcraft their pieces or/and have a strong ethical philosophy and vision.
Glamping Elopement inspiration in the Hills of Colombia
An elopement is a different, intimate, and meaningful way to get married. This shoot was made just before the lockdown, at that time we thought the shoot was beautiful, but now it makes even more sense to us, since we can inspire couples during this difficult time. We weren’t expecting the pandemic and the concept of eloping within the region would open up the possibilities to the couples who desired to keep their plans and get married in spite of the pandemic.
The post COVID19 era is full of hope, harmony, intimacy, and love! Now the elopements are the new intimate wedding dream. Colombia is such a beautiful country for destination weddings and elopements. Not only are there awesome landscapes to choose from. There are so many talented vendors and brands who work in a sustainable way to propose future brides and grooms the best for this beautiful day in their lives.
Not many people think about going to Colombia for an elopement and that's why we thought it was time to create a beautiful inspiration shoot at La Villa Suiza Glamping. With an amazing view over the Neusa lake, it is the perfect spot for an intimate ceremony. You wouldn't believe this place is just about an hour and a half from the big city of Bogotá!
This inspiration shoot portrays a very calm and relaxing day, a couple getting ready together at a beautiful cabin surrounded by nature. Paula and Felipe are a sweet couple in love, they've been together for a long time and accepted to take part in our project. What made it really special, is that Felipe decided to write a letter to Paula some days before. He read it during the exchange of the vows and it was really an emotional moment for both of them. After the ceremony, the natural leaves confetti was the perfect alternative to celebrate this beautiful moment.
The talented team of Haus Weddings made a stunning ceremony backdrop of blooming flowers (roses, ranunculus, lunaria, celosia) that enhanced the view over the lake. The whole decoration for the table and the ceremony set was inspired by a deep blue color on the tablecloth and the plates, contrasted with colorful touches of hot pink. This color palette made the decoration pop and look perfect in front of that green landscape. Gold silverware and chandeliers are always a good idea, it elevates the table!
The bride wore two different dresses, designed by Alex Rivera and had hair and makeup by Valentina Bobadilla, an emerging bridal designer from Bogotá. The first one, elegant and sexy for the ceremony part. The second one, a more bohemian type of dress with beautiful sleeves and perfectly comfortable to hang out during the couple's session and the rest of the day.
For the accessories, the Tany crown is a special piece from Felicia Brides, this one was handmade with gold plated brass leafs made one by one and woven to complete this perfect and gorgeous bridal crown.
The groom also had the chance to wear two different outfits. Whitman is a 100% "made in Colombia" brand that strives for high-quality menswear design without neglecting the protection of the environment and sustainability. We wanted to give grooms other ideas to be able to change from the common wedding suit that sometimes doesn't reflect their personality at all. Accessorized with a handcrafted hat created by the designers from Faussto Shop.
The bride and groom, Paula & Felipe, also wore earrings and necklaces from Escombrazo, a small brand created by artist Daniela Sáenz, who makes unique pieces using rubble from old teared-down buildings. Keeping the history of Bogotá captured in these mini-sculptures that you can take with you everywhere.
We wanted to highlight the fact that it's possible to organize a more environmentally friendly wedding or elopement, by choosing local vendors who put their hearts and souls on each of their creations. Also by reducing the amount of guests, picking seasonal flowers and ethical brands for the wedding outfits and accessories. It's always possible to have a beautiful wedding or elopement that truly represents how every couple lives and feels!
