It all started with the invitation, well maybe it started with Emily’s single Pinterest inspiration photo of the most beautiful bouquet of spring flowers. "Emily was the kind of girl you felt you knew all of your life, so brainstorming with her was a dream. My jaw dropped and my brain went on creative overdrive when I saw that photo. (Here comes the Sun: Groovy Mustard Yellow ’70’s Wedding Inspiration Post) I remember stopping her in mid-sentence, apologizing, and saying two words 'SEED. PAPER.' By the time our consultation was over, we had dreamed up so many exciting things that we were both giddy."

Christine Wilson, owner of Creative in Bloom, says, “I started the invitation design with watercolor paintings inspired by those magical flowers. We printed everything on seed paper that could be planted to spout ‘wild' flowers. Each seed paper invitation and response card was hand-fed through a digital printer, wrapped in vellum and sealed with wax. The next step was to address the envelopes. Since 2008, Creative in Bloom has provided professional calligraphy services with over 9 different style choices. We hand-lettered all 150 envelopes in gold ink."

The Wilds Wedding & Event Venue

The Venue

To host their epic day, Emily and Michael chose Southern Indiana’s most sought after wedding and event venue, The Wilds. The Wilds is perched atop the rolling hills of Brown County on a breathtaking 125 acre stretch of farmland surrounded by forest, providing guests with unobstructed views for miles and the ultimate privacy.

Inspired by timeless, luxury farmhouses, The Wilds Wedding & Event Venue is truly unlike anything in the Midwest. It has all of the comforting elements we love about barns, such exposed timber beams and soaring ceilings, yet it takes on a more modern, elegant feel. Think comfortable, yet very sophisticated. Think high-end, modern farmhouse design. Think JoAnna Gaines.

Though the venue design and the great location are undeniably alluring, Emily and Michael were equally drawn to The Wilds individualized customer care, transparent pricing and all-inclusive approach!

Florals

The florist, Pomp & Bloom, was integral in bringing Emily and Michael’s vision to fruition. Their style is unique, unrestrained and organic, creating just the alluring look this couple was hoping for.

From the grand moss escort card wall to the stunning ceremony pergola and mantle installments, and every table and corner in between, Pomp & Bloom’s floral artistry was striking. In fact, guests had to touch the flowers to see if they were real!

Wedding Decor Details

The last step was to begin all of our details for the day of the wedding. Creative in Bloom created table menus out of the seed paper, transportation cards for each hotel, table numbers, all signage, and the seating concept with place cards.

"Emily wanted a major WOW factor. She also had a desire for the table numbers to stand taller than the florals on the tables." Creative in Bloom, knew just how to give Emily what she dreamed of. "We created table numbers covered in moss and introduced the idea of using the florists’ moss wall for that wow Emily wanted. Seating is one of the most important things we do on wedding days. Every place card was hand lettered in gold ink with our pointed pen method, a wax seal was poured and stamped onto gorgeous pale blue ribbon. We assembled the ribbons at set up on the wedding day."

Cake

Choosing Icing on the Cake by Kristina was a ‘cake-walk’, pun-intended. This three-tier wedding cake was an absolute show-stopper. The white, buttercream cake was framed by a modern gold hoop and accented with bright florals, making for the perfect combination of classic and modern.
