8 Long Rehearsal Dinner Looks We Love

The details on Lea Michele’s wedding last month are still emerging - piece by piece - and today, we got even more eye candy via a throwback post from Lea herself. For a second, as I scrolled past the pic on my feed, I was like waittt, did she get married again?!?!! But then I read the caption, and realized that the former Rachel Berry was merely daydreaming about her absolutely breathtaking rehearsal dinner ensem a la Christian Siriano. Guys, this gown is 🤩🤩🤩.

Just keep glancing, because words are escaping me at the moment.

You know what you’re wearing must be 100, if within two hours you’ve already racked up over 110K likes and nearly 400 comments - all of which are some iteration of ‘wow, you are a vision.’ Even diehard celebrity fans don’t always agree with their crush’s couture choices, and can come in with a 👎 every once in awhile, but for real, we didn’t spot ANY shade. The designer, himself, posted the same pic shortly after Lea did and got a similar response…. Garnering a comment from an obvious C.Siriano fan that was pretty damn telling “It’s getting to the point that if you ain’t in Siriano you ain’t doin a thing.” Boom. Mic drop.

But really, besides the blatant black and white beauty of this gown... we’re loving

The design, how it fits the bride, and how surprising, yet sublime the long silhouette was for a rehearsal dinner. I’ve been to quite a few RDs, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of the brides wear a longer-than-knee-length look. It’s always LWD, LWD, LWD, so this alternative aesthetic was awesome. Not to mention, Lea just owns it. We loved her ceremony and after-party looks, they were Monique, and they were amazing; however, we’d go as far as to say that her Christian Siriano creation was our favorite from her wedding weekend.

The off-the-shoulder neck, the flawless body-hugging fit, the drape detail on her hip, all of it is simple, sophisticated, and straight-up classic. Stunning, to quote the majority of her followers. And we love it all the more, because for her wedding day, Lea chose to embrace the ball gown bride and fairy tale vibe; going with something so streamlined and striking in its subtlety for her rehearsal dinner was such a great juxtaposition.

Now, of course, when you’re thinking about your own night-before-the-wedding dinner, you’ll want to match your style with the setting and the overall formality of the evening. But don’t discount a long look just because you worry it’ll compete with your actual wedding day dress. You can still choose something with a longer hem and get ALL the looks, especially since you’ll probably be the only one opting for it (we’d bet your bridal party, fam, and guests coming from afar wouldn’t do/wear anything at the risk of upstaging the bride-to-be). So, there’s that.

Here are some of our favorite long gowns for the occasion… just because Lea went with white doesn’t mean you have to - I wore a pale pink shift to my own rehearsal! But we’ll always be here for the classic bridal palette, so ivory, cream, snow white, champagne, blush, etc. keep on keeping on.
