When it comes to weddings, all of us here at Wedding Chicks are big fans of pretty much every single aspect. From the “yes” to the “I do,” we just love all things, well, love! But one of our favorite aspects of planning a big day? The chance to bond, celebrate, and create memories with your very best babes! And one of our absolute FAVORITE ways to do that is with a bridesmaids Try-On Party. Revelry, Austin’s best bridal and bridesmaid e-boutique does these parties UP!!! And since nothing sounds better to us than an afternoon or night in with booze and our best boos, we couldn’t wait to give you the deets on their damn-fine wedding dressing situation.
New to the idea of a Try-On Party? It’s easy! With Revelry’s Sample Box system, both brides and maids can try on dresses at home, in their sizes, totally stress-free! Revelry brings the boutique to you, so you can find your favorite looks without pushy sales folks, stuffy fitting rooms, and total guesswork on what will *actually* fit (because when you’re ordering a formal gown, isn’t it better to know EXACTLY what you’re getting before you get it?!)!
Nix brunch out and brunch in instead.
Because instead of having to hit the store with your whole squad, the boutique comes to you! Not going to lie, but planning my sister’s bridesmaid shopping scenario (with her 11 bridesmaids, hugggeee tribe) wasn’t an easy thing. We basically had to shut down the entire store, because there were so many of us, plus my mom, my aunt, my mom’s best friend, my grandma - it was a s***show, pretty much. Not to mention, we brought lots of champagne, but inevitably there were some sudsy spills and OJ mishaps, and when you’re not in the comfort of your own home, then things can get hella awkward!! Once we were done shopping, we also had to find a place convenient for us all to eat, talk about wedding things, and not be segmented all around the restaurant. That was impossible too!
All this said, being able to flip the script and bring the shopping experience in-house, literally, is a much better idea. You can get all of your bridesmaids together before all the big events in your I Do timeline and make it super festive. Decorate your digs, tell everyone they need to ‘dress cute,’ but also tell them that they can and SHOULD wear slippers and be comfortable AF 😘. You’ll have a chance to spoil your special-ist of people and you’ll put together a lowkey way for your girls to meet, mingle (discuss who’s currently single hehe), and get some marching orders in place for the foreseeable future.
… My sister and I brainstormed all of her bachelorette thoughts at her post-bridesmaid shopping brunch. And sure, it was productive, but it wasn’t exactly fun. Having convos like this in the context of an at-home Try-On won’t only be easier, it’ll be exciting, especially if you can have Couples Retreat on in the background while you sip rosé and do your tropical vacay recon.
Invite the whole fam.
Oh yah, when you’re doing things at home and not in a boutique, you can invite whoever you want! As many peeps as your stress-level will allow. You can also FaceTime in Gram, your bestie in college who’s currently in med school out of the country (yep, I had one!), or anyone else who might not be able to come and not have to feel weird about it. More importantly, since you’ll be switching up the locale, you can set your own hours. If the girls can’t come over until after work - totally okay! If you need to plan for a random weekday morning, when most bridal boutiques are closed, then so be it! You’re the boss here, so you pick the time. Your ladies will also love the fact that they can try dresses on in THEIR size (typically, bridesmaid samples - in store - come in 6, 8, 10, maybe 12); Revelry’s bridesmaid sizes range from 0-32 and for the bride, sizes range from 0-24. Dresses also come in 4 different lengths for bridesmaids: cocktail, petite, regular, and tall, and there is NO additional charge for the hem differences. So, no bridesmaid needs to feel uncomfortable or like she’s paying tons more if she needs extra length.
Take the pressure out of the party.
Bridesmaid shopping/getting together with your tribe shouldn’t have pressure attached to it in ANY regard. There’s certainly enough to feel stressed about when planning a wedding, so why bring even more tension to the bridesmaid ensemble equation? With an at-home Try-On, there’s no rushed appointment time (unless you have mind to kick your maids out when you’ve had enough of them 🤣), no eavesdropping sales people, no hardly-private dressing rooms, it’s easy. It’s calm. It’s everything. Above and beyond that, you can keep your dress samples for 3 DAYS, so you don’t have to feel obligated to make a decision on the spot, only having tried on a dress or dresses once.
Your girls can try something on, think about it, take it off, try something else on, twirl in it, go over to every mirror in your place and practice their bridesmaids poses, silly sisterhood sorority smiles, and whatnot, and feel not even a shred of pressure. Sales people and consultants are great, truly they are, but they can make a group feel stressed. That’s why Revelry has stylists on-call from 9AM to 5PM Monday thru Friday; they’re accessible and approachable, but they’re not up your A-S-S.
Curate looks that you’ll love.
Not only the ones that a store wants to push… Revelry has an incredible selection of styles to sort through, from convertible bridesmaids dresses to convertible bridal styles, fabrics from chiffon and lace to sequin and tulle, over 100 colorways (blues and blushes, jewel tones and all-over sequin metallics), there’s truly something for every kind of wedding and every kind of girl to feel great in. Everything is meant to be mixed and matched, too, so basic, uniform looks don’t have to be the only option. In fact, they’re actually the exception with Revelry (the brides and maids who make magic with these dresses are infinitely trendy and fashionable).
Time limits don’t exist in this experiment, so you and your girls can make the very most of the situation. Try on ALL the dresses and make the experience entirely your own.

And finally, feel good about what you got.
Having been a bridesmaid in three weddings in the last eight months, I can truthfully say that ordering a dress in the right size is more-than daunting. At a store, you’re measured by strangers and have to hear your dimensions read off right in front of other shoppers, it can be embarrassing, uncomfortable, just really not a good time. With Revelry, though, you and the girls can use the sample box kit - which includes measuring tape and sample swatches - to make sure you all order the right dress. Before the Try-On, you can ping your pretties to ask what size dress they typically wear, so that you’ll have their size ready when it comes to party. They’ll be able to see themselves and have realistic ideas about what types of alterations they might need in the long run. AND, those stylists are just a phone call away - sooo any sizing concerns can be sussed out without having to do it with a salesperson! YAAAS 🙌🙌🙌.
Who doesn’t love the chance to get their bridal party together, celebrate friendship, and have fun along the way? Not only does this Try-On allow for the chance to find your picture-perfect wedding day looks, it’s also a way to bring your gals together and create memories along the way! A Revelry Try-On Party is an awesome occasion to introduce your babes to each other and with samples in sizes 0-24 for bridal and 0-32 for bridesmaids, all of your pals can party! With on-call stylists ready to answer every question you have, the guesswork is completely taken out of finding your most wonderful wedding day looks!
Don't miss out on the fun!
