3 Dresses That Have Elopement and Honeymoon Written All Over Them

David's Bridal

I have a confession: one of my favorite parts about being a bride was being able to wear little white dresses repeatedly, throughout my engagement. I wore white for my bridal shower, white for my bachelorette, white for my post-wedding brunch, and LOTS of white for my honeymoon - and once it was all over, I just got the blues. Really. There’s rarely ever another time in your life when you can wear a certain color for an entire season (and we’re not talking winter, spring, summer or fall, either, we’re talking about your engagement season, your cycle as a bride) and not got stares. It’s expected and it’s exciting, and we’re SO here for it. That’s why we were so white-eyed and bushy-tailed when David’s Bridal wanted to team up with us on some LWD posts. The nation’s leading authority on wedding and special occasion dressing offers way more than just wedding gowns and accessories, and their selection of short and midi-length dresses is fabulous. So, whether you need something more lowkey to say “I Do” in - #elopementensem - or a few honeymoon pieces that say “So happy about this wifey status upgrade,” they’ve got you covered.

We’re going to get to some of our 🤩🤩🤩 styles soon enough, but first, a little bit more about the little white dress situation.

David’s Bridal is consistently adding new styles to its assortment of “little white dresses,” so much so that everything looks different and can appeal to every bride’s sense of style. The options come in a variety of lengths and silhouettes and dial into all types of of-the-moment trends, and they start under $100 - the best part yet!! Now, obviously we’d tell you that the experience in-store is awesome, and you’ll find a ton of LWD looks there (plus a whole lot of help from their savvy staff), but there are even more dresses available exclusively online. So, even if you don’t find something you love on-site, you’ll probably see something you like on their site. 👉 Scope them out now.

A Little White Dress Is Always a Good Idea for the I Dos

Oh! And we shouldn’t forget to mention that little white dress doesn’t always connote occasion versus wedding dress. If you and your fiancé are planning to elope or will be embracing a minimalistic microwedding, you can rock a shorter style and still ‘look the part’ of a bride. There aren’t rules anymore with modern weddings - and we love it! You can also opt for a silhouette like a high-low or a streamlined sheath, which isn’t exactly text-book “LWD,” but still has those casual wedding dress vibes that so many brides are after RN.

Here are some of our favorite LWDs from DB, and TBH, they’re all TDF. The styles are well suited for elopements and honeymooning - but you probably didn’t even need us to tell you that, considering how the photos instantly transport you to an Italian villa, European estate labyrinth or even an intoxicating vineyard in Napa Valley. Anyone else look at a few of these and throwback to Lizzie McGuire on the back of Paolo’s Vespa in Rome (only much classier, of course)? No, just me? Ugh 😔.

With a folded off-the-shoulder neckline and a sheer high-low hemline, this body-hugging, lace dress is perfect for the casual bride at any wedding-related occasion, but we see it this way… a bride on her way to her reception, all smiles. How to make a lowkey style like this one even more outstanding? Try a long, trailing veil. It’s stunning.
