16 Ready-to-Wear Dresses That Your Bridesmaids Would Slay In

reformation-5Photo:

Don’t get us wrong, we love bridesmaids brands - Jenny Yoo, Revelry, Amsale, you have our hearts. But when it comes to being able to wear the dress again, it’s a little too much wishful thinking. Like, I cannot wait to wear my Hayley Paige Occasions dress for my sister’s wedding in the fall, it’s a beautiful dress, but aside from rocking it as a maxi dress with one of my denim jackets and so-cute sandals in the summer, I don’t know if I’d really wear it to another wedding or formal occasion. ((Just because my familial and social circles are small, I’d probs be seeing the same people at future events)).

Come to think of it, any time I’ve shopped (and at the last minute, I’ll add) for a dress to wear as a wedding guest, I’ve found some gorgeous off-the-rack options that I’d - 100 percent - wear as a bridesmaid. They don’t scream bridal, and that’s soooo refreshing.

We’ll get into some of our favorite ready-to-wear fashions that would make 👌 bridesmaids styles later, but for now, here are a few things to think about - they might help you decide whether you’re a RTW kind of bride.

  1. You’re over the traditional bridesmaid silhouettes. And yes, that includes whatever ‘convertible’ style can be worn eight, 10, 12, 16 different ways. You want variety in your bridesmaids’ lewks, and something that flatters each and every one of them.

  2. Your color palette is haute in the ready-to-wear world. Let’s be honest, shades of blush, champagne, taupe and smoke aren’t exactly 🔥 in the RTW arena. But, if you’ll be getting creative with the color ways for your wedding - and opting for aubergine over lilac, cobalt over periwinkle or navy, or bold prints and graphic florals over singleton shades, then you might find luck in giving your girls a swatch to work with, and letting them find some fast fashion that’ll work for them.

  3. Your squad is all over the map. If your girl group presents a geographical nightmare for shopping together, then it might work in your favor just to be able to send them all a link to a particular dress online and let them order it in their size. Be it, S, M, L, or XL, or 0 thru 26.

  4. Your timeline doesn’t vibe with a 4+ month or longer arrival window. Whether you waited too long to get the girls together to shop (heyyy it happens) or just want to cut out the whole bridal boutique experience altogether - for your ladies just to be able to run to their local Nordstrom or Zara’s or order from Bloomingdale’s.

So, ladies, here are some of our favorites. And if you don't have a thing for army green after this, well then we can't be friends.
