Tiki Torches: up until a few days ago none of us really gave them a second thought. Some of you might find them a bit on the tacky side and others enjoyed the fun and festive vibe they gave a gathering... but I doubt any of us would have looked at a Tiki Torch burning at a backyard BBQ last summer and thought, "I bet Nazis love them some torch light via Tiki." ... My how the world changes. But does it have to? We here at Wedding Chicks love, love; whatever form it may take. And the thought that hate and violence might now tint the soft glow of a line of Tiki Torches is not a world we care to live in.
So, as ridiculous a stand as it may be, we are taking back the Tiki Torch; for Charlottesville and for all of our couples out there thinking twice about lighting those fabulous flower accented torches on their big day! You go ahead and light those Tiki's, in fact here are 10 perfectly acceptable ways to use Tiki Torches at your wedding that don't involve inciting antiquated ideas of a superior race! Love you all and stay safe!
1. Tropical Tiki Torches Fit For Hawaii
To start us off we just had to share this stunning beach ceremony set up that we found on Pinterest! With palm accents, orange and red tropical flowers, seashell and sea stars we cannot get enough of how regal this wedding setup is!
2. Whatever Floats Your Tiki Torch
Not at the beach for your big day? That's okay, floating Tiki Torches at a venue pool will also give your wedding day a fun and tropical vibe. We found these at Bon Soiree Events, we are not entirely sure how they magically made these float, so you might have to talk to them and see if they'll give you their secrets.
3. Flowers Instead of Flames
You and your husband/wife may light each others fire, but that doesn't mean open flames will be aloud at your venue. No problem, these Tiki Torches are flameless and therefore are more wedding venue friendly. Plus how awesome are they as floral arrangement stands? Photo found on Pinterest with many other floral Tiki Torch ideas.
4. DIY Your Torches
Okay these may not actually be Tiki related torches, but there were just so many great do-it-yourself torch ideas that included adding citronella to your torch oil to keep bugs away that we just had to share. These Corona torches would be great bar or centerpiece ideas as long as everyone was careful not to knock them over. (Again, stay safe friends) We found this photo on Pinterest and here is a link to a great DIY for your citronella torches!
5. Tiki Torch Those Bugs
Weddings start out as engagements and engagements generally mean a photo shoot. So why not keep those nasty bugs at bay while you and your honey capture a few fun summer photos at your favorite beach? See above fore a great recipe for citronella torches. This photos was courtesy of Radion Photography.
6. What's More Beachy Than Tiki Torches
Agreed this is very similar to the first wedding ceremony setup. Altho when planning your wedding day, it's nice to have a bunch of options to choose from. We love these Tiki Torches wrapped in tropical florals that lead you into the ceremony, and what's even better is you can see more of this and other tiki ceremony setups at Big Day Weddings!
7. Tiki Torches At Sunset, Elopers Delight
Elopements are big for you and your honey, but with very few guests its hard to imagine spending a ton on wedding decor. This simple and romantic sunset elopement ceremony has just a few decor details that would cost under $80 to recreate! We found this beautiful elopement on Pinterest.

10.... Wait, That's not a Tiki Torch...
You got us, no this is not a Tiki Torch but this cake was just too awesome to not share with all of you, thanks Kai Photo for capturing it!
