Peach and Mint Bridesmaid Luncheon
As you know we are always on the hunt for great bridal shower ideas, and how to make sure the bride-to-be feels extra special. As you will soon see our next bride, Robyn felt extra loved at her peach and mint bridesmaid luncheon. Compliments of her mom and styled in in true southern fashion by Angela Marie Events at Bistro Byronz. Lucky girl ... right? Complete with pre-cocktails, bridal shower cake with charms and of course lots of gits. All the pretty stationery you see was designed by one of our favorite stationers The First Snow. Love us some Darah!

From Angela DiVincenti Babin of Angela Marie Events:The cocktail hour was great for everyone to mingle before everyone sat down. I placed peach burlap on the tables and a fun garland from BHLDN. Down south, everyone loves a mimosa at luncheons. I asked my bride-to-be if we could switch it up a bit. She said sure, so everyone sipped on St. Germain Cocktails in tall mason jars and paper straws. Everyone wanted the recipe! The beautiful vintage plates we used for appetizers were from BHLDN.Before heading inside the bistro for lunch, Robyn and her bridesmaids enjoyed tasty hors d'oeuvres while sipping on St. Germain Cocktails on the patio. Mix up this signature drink at home using the recipe below!

1.5 oz St-Germain2 oz Dry White Wine or Champagne Club SodaLemon twist Directions:
Add the St-Germain and wine or champagne to a glass filled with ice. Stir well and top with club soda. Garnish with a lemon twist.
I wanted to give Robyn an unforgettable luncheon with many beautiful details. I wanted to bring natural elements into the luncheon, and give it an old countryside feel. Her mom was hosting the luncheon and wanted the luncheon to be a complete surprise - which it was! Bistro Byronz, a local French bistro with a Louisiana flair, was where we had our intimate get together. I like the old vintage feel of this restaurant and the food is fabulous! The inspiration for this luncheon came from the floral watercolor Anthropologie plates. I LOVED the colors and the country feel, but still beautiful and elegant. The scalloped tea cups were precious.
The watercolor flowers were beautiful and were perfectly painted by local New Orleans artist Shelley Hesse. Even if you take peek inside the cup she painted a small little butterfly on the side. What a bonus - the plates designed by a Louisiana gal! I found her on Facebook and told her about the luncheon and that I loved her collection. She couldn't wait to see pictures! I was so glad to find Shelley and to be able to share a party using her artwork.
I paired the Anthropologie collection with beautiful monogrammed napkins, which was another gift to Robyn from her mom. I decided to use vintage inspired clear salad plates from Sur la table, so that the floral print could be seen through them. Beautiful tea pots and delicate salt and pepper birds were also placed on the table. I picked a neutral fabric for the table linen. I wanted the plates to pop.
The florals for the luncheon were beautiful garden caramel roses, white hydrangeas, peach roses, scabiosa pods, and succulents. The chicken wire containers were a great find. So many times people make floral arrangements that are too tall and can't appreciate the person in front of you at the table. These containers were short and gave that farm feel to the table. I also made fresh wreaths that were on the doors leading to the porch were the ladies had a short cocktail hour.
I have a sweet spot for dessert tables. I entered the wedding industry with designing candy and dessert tables. Displaying your cake is part of your décor at any party. I used beautiful roses and succulents on the table. Even underneath the table, adding to my countryside feel, I placed terra cotta pots, birch slices (we cut!), old galvanized containers, fresh white stock and some fresh lemons.
Charms in the wedding cake is such a southern tradition. I always find that the bride and her maids are rushed during the cutting of the wedding cake and can't enjoy finding out their future luck! Who will be lucky in love or adventure? The Ambrosia Bakery, famous for their fresh strawberry cake, made this lovely simple ruffled 2-tier cake that, of course, had fresh strawberry filling! I topped it with a cute "I love my bridesmaids" banner. Everyone enjoyed cake while sipping coffee and tea from those cute teacups.
As everyone enjoyed cake, Robyn handed out the bridesmaid's gifts that I decided would be super cute in chicken wire baskets lined with yellow gingham linens with dried flowers and a cute custom tag. Robyn decided that her maids needed pearls for the wedding night, a cute oversized monogrammed shirt to stay comfy the day of the wedding, comfortable flip flops after those heels started hurting everyone's feet, and a monogrammed necklace to wear anytime! Boy, those maids were spoiled!
The day was perfect. Beautiful hot summer weather, delicious food, and great company. Special details make for a memorable day, and I love creating special moments for special people!
