I Do Venues Design Inspiration: A Wedding and Other Cool Stuff

Photography By: Viera Photographics

Summary

I love how so many of today’s bride are not afraid to take a fresh and creative approach to their wedding celebration. The couple who chooses to be a bit avant-garde with their ideas and design will open up a treasure trove of fun and frivolity for their guests. Everyone likes to be engaged in activity – who would not have a good time at a wedding were a challenging game of bocce has been incorporated into your cocktail hours?
Today’s bride wants the reception to be a reflection of the couple’s personal style. What better way to incorporate this than to bring a dash of your own personality and panache into the details of your design? If you are a writer or a bookworm, consider a collection of antique books paired with a vintage typewriter. This will make a great guest book station (did you know that you can rent a vintage typewriter?). A car enthusiast may choose to use a collection of sports or antique cars as background pieces for photos. If the bride and groom enjoy an occasional game of badminton or play in a bocce league, what great fun it would be to have a mini tournament at your wedding! Keep your guests guessing with unexpected games and activities, which is always a crowd-pleaser.

Details and Venue Recommendations

Wedding venues all have a unique feeling, and to personalize it with your own bit of flair can be a challenge. The amazingly fun wedding pictured above was captured by the talented Viera Photographics. This collective design would look great at the Carneros Inn, Solage, or Cavallo Point. If a modern design where traditional meets fun is the overall look and feel you want, find a wedding venue that features a gracious outdoor space but allows you to provide activities indoors as well.
When trying to accomplish a less traditional look, seating makes a world of difference and is a great investment. Look how this couple has a set of retro white metal chairs to highlight their sweetheart table. By thinking outside the box, they have taken what would be an ordinary two-top and really added some POP. Using metal scroll garden chairs, clear Lucite chairs, or a bamboo style can create a look that is polished but still not the norm. All of our local rental companies have a variety of unique options that would accomplish this feel.
