Lucky in Love
This wedding felt like such a full-circle moment for me in the most unexpected way. In early 2025, I hosted a wedding photography giveaway (which I have run every year for the past three years), and Tyler & Taylor were chosen as the winners. From the start, it already felt incredibly meaningful to be a part of their story in that way, especially because they have always had “lucky” experiences within their relationship, so this was just icing on their wedding cake. What started as a giveaway ended up giving so much back to me, too. It was a reminder of why I care so deeply about my work and how powerful it is to document people exactly as they are, in moments that mean everything.
The Destination: New Orleans
When they told me they were getting married in New Orleans, it made everything even more special. Leaving the middle of a Buffalo winter for a warm, vibrant celebration felt like stepping into a completely different world. Planned by DIFY Events, their day was filled with so much color, energy, and genuine joy; it was one of those weddings where you could feel how loved they are by everyone around them. Every part of the day felt alive, from the atmosphere of the city to the way their people showed up for them. Nothing felt forced or overdone, just really honest and present moments unfolding naturally.
Getting Ready
New Orleans is home to some of the cutest B&Bs in the country. The couple chose Sweet Olive B&B NOLA as their getting-ready spot, and the vibe was on-point, from the art deco-inspired wallpaper to the stained-glass windows.
The Fashion
As a chic contrast to the laid-back feel of the “Big Easy,” the couple went with a black-tie dress code. The bride fell in love with a strapless and sculptural A-line gown by Jenny Yoo. Her bridesmaids each selected a dress in a color and silhouette that fit their personality. The groom and his men sported black tuxes with colorful boutonnieres.

We photographed the day on both digital and 35mm film, which was so important to me for a wedding like this. I wanted to capture not just how it looked but how it felt to actually be there. The film’s softness paired with the day’s vibrancy perfectly reflected their energy.
The Second Line
It wouldn’t be a New Orleans wedding without a Second Line, and this couple went all in! The bride changed into a silver sequin mini-dress, and the groom ditched his jacket to get the festivities started. They paraded through the streets with their guests as they made their way to Capulet for the reception.
