Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, and Windows of the Cathedral – do I have you stumped? These are all well-known landmark locations for those couples who advertently hike, bike, or walk the amazing trails of Yosemite National Park. With names like these, what couple would not be enamored by the idea of exchanging their vows in a cathedral carved out of time and stone with the whisper of the wind in the Redwood trees and the harmonious trickle of a nearby brook barely audible in the distance?!
If this setting sounds like Nirvana, then check this out. At the southern-most gate of Yosemite, you’ll find one of the most charming inn’s you can imagine. The Narrow Gauge Inn is quaint and soulful and serene – there is something about being immersed in the grand scape of Yosemite that brings a hush to your mind. Many couples choosing a Yosemite retreat as their wedding celebration may choose to have their ceremony within the gates of Yosemite itself; however, I love the idea that this quaint inn has several gorgeous ceremony locations – all on property.

Here are a few of his thoughts: The Narrow Gauge Inn in Fish Camp, California brings the natural beauty of Yosemite to every celebration. This unique location promises intimate and exclusive experience with romantic beautiful cottages, as well as indoor and outdoor ceremony areas perfect for every season. The guests boarded the Sugar Pine Railroad for a scenic railroad excursion aboard a restored turn of the century locomotive. We arrived at our destination for the ceremony at the beautiful and majestic Mariposa Grove were giant Sequoias acted as large canopies for the wilderness ceremony. I love weddings like these were you can get off the beaten path and feel like you’ve taken a step back in time.I love how this couple kept things simple and how they have embraced the rustic “hunting lodge” type of motif that the venue offers. The photographs by the vintage firetrucks and with the old-fashioned train (a wonderful way to transport your guests to a remote ceremony location, by the way) are gorgeous and bring a real feeling of authenticity to the celebration. The oak paneling and stone-covered walls are perfect. I love the bar in the restaurant – it is reminiscent of an old western saloon. From the antlers used to create chandeliers to the snow shoes used for decor on the walls, it is Yosemite at it’s best.
