A Chic Rainbow Wedding With Subtle Nods To Taylor Swift

Share

Whitney and Colton approached their wedding with one simple philosophy: if it felt joyful, colorful, and completely authentic to them, it belonged.

Hosted at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, the celebration embraced what Whitney affectionately called a “chic rainbow” aesthetic. Rather than centering the design around a single palette or trend, the couple layered color, pattern, texture, and meaningful personal details to create a wedding that felt vibrant, elevated, and unmistakably theirs.

Guests were invited into an experience where every design decision by LuckEleven Events, musical choice, and surprise detail reflected the couple’s personalities, resulting in a wedding that balanced sophisticated styling with genuine playfulness, all captured by Ben & Kadin.

Design that embraced abundance

The design embraced abundance in the most intentional way. Whitney envisioned a celebration built around pattern, texture, and color rather than minimalism, allowing every space to feel layered and expressive. Instead of limiting the palette, vibrant hues were thoughtfully woven throughout the celebration, creating what she described as a “chic rainbow.”

The overall aesthetic felt polished rather than playful, demonstrating that colorful wedding design can still feel refined and editorial.

A soundtrack that told a story

The ceremony beautifully blended elegant styling with deeply personal touches. While the setting reflected timeless sophistication, the soundtrack quietly told the couple’s story.

Guests were seated as an acoustic version of “August” played, followed by flower pup Josie and the flower girls making their entrance to “Fifteen.” Whitney then walked down the aisle to a carefully curated Taylor Swift medley before the newlyweds recessed together to “Paper Rings,” a joyful conclusion to the ceremony.

Even the wedding date carried hidden meaning. Although it wasn’t intentional at first, Whitney and Colton ultimately chose Friday, August 15, 2025—a date that subtly nodded to both “August” and “Fifteen,” making it feel destined in more ways than one.

Layered & colorful floral design

The colorful floral design by Leta Verbena Floral Design complemented the wedding’s layered aesthetic, adding movement and richness throughout the celebration.

Patterns, textures, and thoughtfully selected décor worked together to create a reception that felt immersive without becoming overwhelming. Every design element contributed to the overall vision, proving that maximalism can still feel elegant when approached with intention.

Taylor Swift-inspired details

Some of the most memorable design moments appeared in the smallest details. Guests found their seats beneath a seating chart titled “At Every Table (We’ll) Save You a Seat,” a heartfelt reference to the couple’s first dance song, “Lover.” At the sweetheart table, planner Melanie surprised the newlyweds with custom dinner napkins featuring lyrics from “Mine,” creating a quiet, emotional moment that neither of them expected.

These subtle references rewarded fellow Swift fans while remaining meaningful expressions of the couple’s story for every guest in attendance.

Details we love: “Bejeweled” station & a silent disco

As the evening progressed, the celebration shifted into an unforgettable after-party.

Leaning fully into the playful spirit of the day, guests were welcomed into a “Bejeweled” station filled with gems and glitter before heading to a silent disco unlike any other. Three music channels allowed everyone to curate their own experience: one inspired by Whitney’s favorite songs, another by Colton’s, and an entire Taylor Swift channel featuring audio from The Eras Tour concert film, projected behind the DJ.

A celebration that made guests part of the story

Beyond the beautiful design and unforgettable entertainment, what made Whitney and Colton’s wedding so memorable was its sense of inclusion.

From meaningful musical moments to personalized details hidden throughout the celebration, every guest was invited to become part of the story. Their wedding never took itself too seriously, yet every element was executed with care and intention.

It was colorful without feeling chaotic, elegant without feeling formal, and deeply personal without excluding anyone—a celebration that proved the most memorable weddings are often the ones that feel the most authentically lived-in.
