Colorful Pnw Wedding With Garden-inspired Florals And A Disco Cowboy Reception

Share

Kelsey and Jon’s wedding unfolded over a breathtaking September weekend at Fox Hollow Farm, when the Pacific Northwest was showing off its most vibrant colors. Surrounded by the beauty of the changing season, the couple envisioned a celebration that felt connected to the landscape while embracing a distinctly artistic point of view.

Rather than transforming the venue into something entirely different, the design – planned with the help of Miinori & Co. and captured by Kalina Nicole Photo – worked alongside the natural environment, amplifying the colors, textures, and energy already present. The result was a wedding that felt immersive, expressive, and full of personality from beginning to end.

Invitation suite as a motif

The couple approached each design element as part of a larger story. The invitation suite established the visual language for the celebration, which was later echoed throughout the event. One particularly memorable example was the custom bar wrap, which carried design motifs from the stationery into the reception space, creating a seamless connection between paper goods and environment.

The consistency of these details made the wedding feel intentionally curated while maintaining an effortless atmosphere.

Chartreuse and pink color palette

The wedding aesthetic centered on an unexpected palette of chartreuse and layered shades of pink, creating a look that felt fresh, modern, and deeply rooted in the season.

The floral design by Isa Floral Design echoed the richness of the surrounding foliage, allowing the celebration to feel like a natural extension of the landscape. Rather than relying on a traditional wedding palette, Kelsey embraced color in a way that felt bold yet sophisticated.

Every design choice contributed to a visual story that was vibrant without overwhelming the natural beauty of the setting.

Delicate floral bridal fashion

One of the most thoughtful aspects of the wedding design was the way different elements subtly referenced one another.

The delicate floral pattern featured on Kelsey’s wedding dress became a source of inspiration for the reception design, influencing the selection of table linens and helping establish continuity throughout the celebration. These layered details created a sense of cohesion that guests may not have immediately noticed but undoubtedly felt.

Floral-forward: chartreuse and pink blooms

Flowers played a central role in the overall design. The floral arrangements felt abundant and expressive, showcasing layers of chartreuse and pink blooms that mirrored the colors of the Pacific Northwest landscape in early fall. Rather than serving as decoration alone, the florals became part of the architecture of the celebration, adding movement, texture, and energy throughout the venue.

Even the smallest details reflected this floral-forward approach. Specialty blooms appeared in cocktails and were delicately placed atop whipped butter service, transforming everyday reception elements into moments of unexpected beauty and delight.

Engaging guest experiences

During cocktail hour, guests were invited into an experience that was both personal and nostalgic. A curated display of wedding photographs from family and friends encouraged guests to pause and reflect on their own love stories. Accompanied by the simple message, “remember the feeling,” the installation became one of the most meaningful moments of the celebration.

Detail we love: playing with pattern & texture

The reception design continued the celebration’s layered approach to storytelling. Pattern, color, and texture were thoughtfully woven throughout the tablescapes, creating an environment that felt inviting and visually rich.

The connection between the linens, florals, stationery, and surrounding landscape gave the reception a sense of continuity that felt organic rather than overly styled. Every table contributed to the larger design narrative while remaining approachable and welcoming for guests.

Disco cowboy dance party

As evening arrived, the tone of the celebration shifted in the most unexpected and memorable way. The barn was transformed into a high-energy dance environment inspired by a playful disco cowboy theme. Overhead, a dramatic ceiling installation of balloons introduced movement and dimension, instantly changing the atmosphere of the space.

Guests fully embraced the experience through custom tambourines, neon light-up hats, playful temporary tattoos, and pom-poms. Rather than simply attending a reception, they became active participants in the celebration itself. The result was a dance floor filled with color, energy, and uninhibited joy.

Kelsey and Jon’s wedding demonstrated how thoughtful design can feel both elevated and playful at the same time. From the seasonally inspired floral palette and carefully layered details to the nostalgic cocktail hour and unforgettable disco cowboy reception, every aspect of the celebration reflected their personalities and perspective.

The day moved effortlessly between beauty and fun, creating an experience that felt immersive, intentional, and completely unforgettable—much like the Pacific Northwest landscape that inspired it.
