When Madison and Jessamine met in junior college, they had decidedly different ideas about where the relationship might go. Hibiscus lace appeared throughout the design, a meaningful nod to the island she is from. The botanical detail also felt perfectly at home within the larger garden-inspired celebration, connecting something personal to the visual language of the wedding.
Madison departed from traditional black or navy suiting in favor of a soft blue suit. The muted shade complemented the greens, blues, taupes, and whites appearing throughout the design while maintaining the relaxed elegance of the day.
Together, their fashion felt polished without becoming overly formal—another extension of the softness they wanted to preserve throughout the wedding.
A ceremony beneath a caress of trees
The ceremony took full advantage of one of the property’s most romantic natural features.
Rather than beginning from a traditional aisle entrance, the procession descended a garden staircase from the tree line. Guests watched as the wedding party moved down the steps, past blooming gardens, and toward an altar tucked beneath the trees.
The journey itself became part of the ceremony’s visual story. Surrounded by greenery and filtered natural light, the setting didn’t require an elaborate transformation. Florals softened the landscape while allowing the mature trees and garden to create the sense of intimacy Madison and Jessamine wanted.
Two traditions, one ceremony
Madison and Jessamine also used their ceremony to bring together meaningful elements of culture and religion. The breaking of the glass honored Jewish tradition, while another ritual incorporated a ceremonial rope placed over the couple’s shoulders in the shape of an infinity symbol, representing the unbreakable bond of their love.
Rather than separating those traditions, the couple allowed them to coexist naturally within the ceremony—a reflection of the different histories and influences they were bringing into their marriage. Against the softness of the garden setting, those rituals gave the ceremony another layer of meaning beyond its beauty.
Golden hour in Simi Valley
Before dinner, Madison and Jessamine slipped away from the celebration as the light began to change. The setting carried the garden aesthetic from ceremony into reception without feeling repetitive. White florals, woven textures, natural wood, muted colors, and candlelight allowed the tables to feel elegant while preserving the ease of an outdoor dinner party.
Nothing appeared too rigid or overly manicured. Instead, the tables felt as though they belonged within the surrounding landscape.
It was garden romance with a decidedly California point of view: refined, sun-washed, and relaxed enough to invite everyone to settle in and enjoy the evening.

For all the intentional styling that went into Madison and Jessamine’s wedding, their advice to other couples was refreshingly simple: “Don’t forget to add a touch of fun.”
That philosophy may also explain why their “garden ethereal” aesthetic worked so well.
The celebration never felt like an exercise in achieving a perfectly curated look. Lemons brought unexpected color to the tables. Cultural and religious traditions made the ceremony distinctly theirs. Hibiscus lace quietly referenced Jessamine’s roots. And the natural landscape was allowed to remain a little wild.
