The Destination: Newport

After thirteen years together as high school sweethearts, our journey from Ohio to the coast of New England felt like a true full-circle moment. Having spent countless summers in Rhode Island, we were captivated by the timeless charm of Newport, and it was the only place we could imagine saying, ‘I do.’

The Vision: Effortless Elegance

Castle Hill Inn is simply iconic, and its effortless elegance provided the perfect backdrop for our vision. We leaned into a sophisticated palette of gold and crisp white, complemented by an abundance of lush, organic florals by Pranzi Florals that brought the space to life. The day was punctuated by an incredibly sweet, private first look against the water, setting a beautiful tone for the ceremony ahead.

Getting Ready

With her mom and her bridesmaids by her side, Caroline lounged in the bridal suite, soaking up the good vibes and good company. There was also a special delivery, a custom newspaper that featured articles all about the lucky couple. Caroline wore a lace-trimmed robe and slip while she got her hair and makeup done, and the rest of the ladies sported adorable ruffled pajama sets.

The Fashion

For her wedding gown, Caroline fell in love with a mermaid gown by Eva Lendel with a dramatic, detachable train. Luke also went timeless with his look, donning a classic black tuxedo.

One of my most cherished details was my evening ensemble; I honored family tradition with a custom-made reception look reconstructed from my mother’s original wedding dress. It was the perfect transition for dancing the night away under the stars at our waterfront celebration.

Trending: Private Vow Exchange

There was a time when couples believed it was bad luck to see each other before the ceremony, but these days, they’re ditching tradition for a trend that helps them stay present for one of the most important moments of their lives. We are all for the private vow exchange!

Live Painting

As guests made their way through the garden and found their seats at the waterfront ceremony, they were delighted to find a live painter already working her magic. When your wedding is this stunning, it would be a shame not to document it in every way possible, right?!

The Cake

Perched on its own table sat an ornately decorated, Lambeth-style cake with three tiers. The gorgeous red velvet confection was topped with fresh white roses and hid an adorable tribute to their fur baby.
