Kelly and Matt’s love story began in the autumn of 2015 at St. Lawrence University. One fateful Sunday evening, the two were introduced at a Men’s and Women’s Soccer party celebrating the end of preseason. There was an instant connection, and gravity pulled them closer throughout the semester. Their day-to-day lives began to overlap on the soccer field, in the classroom, with friends, and in their spare time, creating countless memories that, little did they know, would last a lifetime. After a number of years in a long-distance relationship due to study abroad and other opportunities, Kelly and Matt took the next step in their life journey in 2020, making a home together in Hoboken. In August of 2023, surrounded by the beauty of Central Park, Matt got down on one knee and asked Kelly to be his forever. She joyfully said YES! They hosted their lavender, green, blush, and white inspired wedding at Hamilton Farm with an event that was timelessly elegant, charming, and fun, all captured by Peach Photography NJ.

Because the bride was from Fairfield County, Connecticut, the couple toured several CT venues. They knew they wanted one that was open and airy, yet still stately. They broadened their search to New Jersey, and when they arrived at Hamilton Farm, the grounds and staff made them feel so comfortable and cared for. They immediately knew it would be a great fit for their day.

Finding the right bridesmaid dress felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. After countless months of searching, the bride and her maid of honor stumbled upon the perfect one while window shopping in Nantucket. The Hill House Matilda dress in Wisteria Multi was an effortless lilac floral pattern that acted as an extension of their theme: timeless, elegant, and charming. It even had another layer of connection to the couple, as lilacs are one of their favorite flowers.

The groomsmen wore classic black (bow) tie suits from Proper Cloth NYC with pants that tapered stylishly to the ankle.

The bride wore a timeless Jenny Yoo dress in satin, complemented by a lace-trimmed cathedral-length veil.

Florist Laura Clare incorporated blooming florals that were in season to complement the theme of lilacs, butterfly ranunculus, and peonies, creating a flowy, organic inspiration.

The couple and their wedding party travelled by trolley to and from the ceremony location.

“One of the best parts of the planning process was choosing our vendors – and more importantly building relationships throughout the entire process. We’ve never loved the word vendor when it comes to weddings. To us, each person we worked with was a trusted partner in bringing our dream day to life. Collaborating with such talented and experienced professionals gave us a true sense of peace and confidence throughout the process, which is priceless.”

One of the most important things to Kelly and Matt was finding a way to show their deep appreciation for the incredible family and friends who have supported them throughout their lives and relationship. Knowing the day would fly by, they wanted to create a moment of connection and gratitude that each guest could experience. So, they wrote individual thank-you notes—something heartfelt each guest could read when they sat down at their table for the reception. It was the couple’s way of pausing the whirlwind of the day to say, “We see you. We’re grateful for you.” It made the celebration feel that much more personal and meaningful.

The couple opted for a wedding cake from CocoLuxe in New Jersey. They settled on a coconut cake with white chocolate coconut mousse and a thin layer of raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream.

“Wedding planning can definitely come with its fair share of stress, but try to enjoy the process and stay grounded in what really matters. Be thoughtful and intentional with your decisions – choose what is meaningful to you as a couple, not what’s expected. And on the big day, don’t leave each other’s side! It’s so easy to get swept up in the whirlwind, but this day is ultimately about you two coming together as one. Stay present, soak it all in, and experience it together!”
