Charming garden wedding with a picture-perfect tented reception

Share

romantic ivory bridal bouquet

There are tented receptions that feel like a Plan B, and then there are tented receptions (LIKE THIS ONE) that are simply out of this world! The allure of a tented reception is that you get all of the beauty of an outdoor affair without having to constantly worry about the weather. That being said, the key to a lovely tented reception is the right tent. It should be a statement in its own right, not simply utilitarian. So, if you are thinking of using a tent for your wedding, this is an absolute must-see! Plus, you’ll definitely want to pin all of these gorgeous photos by Susan Shek Photography that capture the feel of the day perfectly!

the vision: pastoral romance

coastal wedding venue

Designed and planned by Christine Ferguson Events, pastoral romance was the vision for the day, starting with the intimate garden ceremony and culminating in a dramatic tented reception draped in greenery and florals by Rachel Cho Floral. Ivory, champagne, and blush in the attire, florals, and details wove together to create a delicate and timeless color palette that complemented the grounds of The Round Tree, Amagansett, beautifully. Michelle carried a timeless bouquet of ivory and blush roses that was echoed in the ceremony arrangements and the centerpieces at the reception as well. There was also a dramatic rose and vine arch that welcomed guests as they entered the tented reception.

Michelle was radiant in a draped tulle and lace gown by Berta. Beads added a touch of sparkle to the waist and shoulders, and she wore her hair down in long, flowing waves. For cocktail hour, she changed into a traditional Korean hanbok with an ivory embroidered silk top and almost iridescent lavender organza skirt.

At cocktail hour, guests sipped on Aperol spritz while they enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres with a Korean flair, like deconstructed kimbap. Then they made their way to the elegantly appointed tent where a lovely plated dinner awaited, starting with a fresh stone fruit salad. And, to keep the party going, ramen was served straight from the cup as a late-night snack. Instead of a traditional tiered wedding cake, guests were treated to individual cheesecakes topped with guava caviar.

When it was time to really get the party started, Michelle changed into a chic bridal two-piece set with tailored pants and a sheer top with 3-D floral details and an epic train! They sipped martinis as they danced the night away and then treated their guests to late-night ramen before heading off into their happily ever after.
