the vision: soft elegance in the countryside

Designed and planned by Gathered East, everything about Julia and Kevin’s wedding weekend felt like a reflection of who they are: stylish, discerning, and full of warmth. From the historic Glen Manor House and The Vanderbilt to the curated cocktails and late-spring florals by Soul Flora, nothing was overdone—and yet every detail felt beautifully dialed in. It was refined, yes, but most of all, it was personal.

The reception design was next level. Every surface, texture, and palette choice was intentional but never precious. Inside the tented terrace and reception rooms, scalloped lace linens, soft lilac napkins, and layered candlelight gave each table a polished but relaxed elegance.

the stationery

Well before the main event, the chic pastel palette had already been decided. Guests received lavender envelopes in the mail, lined with sage stripes. Opening revealed a delicate floral motif on the invitation suite and a custom monogram.
the florals

The floral palette was tonal and romantic without veering into traditional. Think garden florals with edge—orchids, ranunculus, lisianthus, and herbs, grounded by fruit and branch elements for depth. The custom-built bar, wrapped in soft green and topped with sculptural florals and lavender-hued menus, was as much a design statement as it was a gathering point.

the fashion

For the black-tie affair, the bride chose an elegant draped strapless gown with an A-line skirt. She paired the look with a timeless pearl choker and lace-trimmed ivory satin pumps. The bridesmaids complemented her look beautifully in shades of sage, lavender, and robin’s egg blue in an assortment of silhouettes. The groom was also dressed the part in a timeless tuxedo, but he added a modern flair by opting for a deep navy instead of black.

the menu

And then there was the food. From the raw bar piled high with oysters and clams to cocktail hour’s elevated passed bites and a seafood-focused dinner menu, everything was designed to feel thoughtful and luxurious while still putting the couple and their guests first—a true expression of Julia and Kevin’s appreciation for exceptional hospitality.
trending: elongated cakes

More and more couples are ditching the traditional tiered wedding cake and going for a simpler, long, rectangular shape. The decor varies, but fresh flowers and buttercream flourishes are becoming the norm. Some couples are even putting candles down the length of the cake and blowing them out together while they make a wish. And just think of how much easier these babies would be to cut!!!
