the vibe: royal wedding

You would hardly know that this elegant wedding took place on a “ranch” in Montecito. With the black-tie dress code, the bride’s elegant long-sleeve lace gown by Monique Lhuilier, the grand church ceremony, and the perfectly manicured garden reception, this timeless affair, designed by Callista & Co. and Morari, was channeling some serious royal wedding vibes. It just goes to show how, with the right vision (and a killer team of vendors), you can have the wedding of your dreams no matter where in the world you choose for your destination.

Flowers played such a crucial role in the entire design. TOAST Santa Barbara picked up on the natural feel of the garden flowers with blooms like lavender and white roses, but it was the Lily of the Valley bouquet that really stole the show. And how on-theme? Here are just a few other brides that carried Lily of the Valley on their big day…you may recognize a few…Kate Middleton, Princess Diana, Meghan Markle, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and the Queen Mother.

the venue

Known for being the honeymoon retreat for John & Jackie Kennedy, San Ysidro Ranch is quiet luxury at its finest. The quaint venue in the California countryside is brimming with flowers and gives any event an air of seclusion and exclusivity.

the stationery

Timeless and understated, this lovely invitation suite featured gold calligraphy and sage details. The palette continued onto the menus, which featured a sage satin ribbon and an embossed portrait of the garden.

getting ready

As the soft California sun filtered through the window of the cottage, the bride stepped into her long-sleeved lace gown with the help of one of her bridesmaids. The groom took a moment to soak it all in as he watched the sunrise over the ranch.

the fashion

For the elegant church wedding, the bride selected a regal A-line lace gown by Monique Lhuillier. Her groom wore a classic black tuxedo and sported a Lily of the Valley boutonniere to match her bouquet. And we would be remiss if we didn’t touch on the incredible ensembles in the wedding party. From the MOB’s elegant blue gown to the Maid of Honor and bridesmaids, these ladies got the black tie memo! 👏

the ride

Dressed in her gown, the bride made her way out to the brick drive to find her dad waiting for her by a black vintage car. Together they rode to the church, Trinity Santa Barbara, where he would walk his baby girl down the aisle.

the cake

Sweet and simple, the couple cut into a classic three-tiered white wedding cake decorated in fresh white flowers.

a petal toss exit

There are so many options when it comes to making your big exit, but we are huge proponents of the petal toss. It’s romantic, environmentally conscious, and it just photographs so beautifully!
