the proposal

He proposed in front of both of our families at his family’s pier house on the ocean in New Castle, NH, and then he surprised me with a HUGE engagement party in downtown!!!

the vision: timeless and neutral

I wanted a timeless design, so simple that we could look back at it in 20 years and it wouldn’t go out of style—just neutral, romantic, simple. Pinch Me Planning and Yellow Twist Design brought our vision to life at Blackpoint Inn. We used Big Tree Catering and did a family-style dinner. We wanted dinner to be stress-free, and due to the number of people, the family style was the fastest way to get food out without making people sit and wait for over an hour. We did farm-to-table-style food from local vendors. We also did custom cocktails for our two dogs at home, featuring our favorite liquors!

mobile bar(s)

After the ceremony, guests could take in the coastal breeze while they sipped local beer on tap served from this adorable mobile bar cart fashioned from a vintage truck. Then, yet another mobile bar made an appearance inside the venue to keep the party going for the reception!

the fashion

I chose a simple dress with a corset-style top. I was 6 weeks postpartum from having a baby, and somehow, it worked out perfectly. I had just left my 6-week postpartum doctor appointment and went right to our rehearsal dinner. Can’t make that up! My husband was in a neutral sand color, and it went perfectly with our palette and style.

the cake

The couple decided on a timeless three-tiered wedding cake with pearl embellishments as a nod to the coastal theme. They also had an entire dessert table set up for their guests to enjoy.
