Cooper and Lexey initially met through mutual family friends, and although they had grown up in the same hometown in Florida, their paths had never crossed — or so they thought. One day, while rummaging through some of her parents’ old belongings, Lexey stumbled upon a group photo from a ski trip to Aspen. As she looked closely, she realized that not only were both her parents and Cooper’s parents in the picture, but a seven-year-old Cooper and a five-year-old Lexey were there as well. Neither Cooper nor Lexey knew that they had met as children, but it was the perfect inspiration to bring everyone back to Aspen for their wedding day. Inspired by summer in Colorado, Cooper and Lexey embraced their ranch-style wedding venue and the season’s natural wildflowers for a relaxed celebration, planned with the help of Juls Sharpley Events and photographed by MaggShots Photography.

On trend: start the wedding weekend early
Lexey and Cooper turned their wedding into a getaway, arriving early to enjoy their stay at Patak, where they hiked, explored the outdoors, and even took a hot-air balloon ride.

Relaxed poolside (garden) party
Joined by their dogs and sixty guests, garden-party attire was encouraged — along with a laid-back state of mind.
